PSA needs to grade these Animal Crossing cards!!! I already have a psa 8 candidate with a notch on the back I tested if the card would read over the case! It works! A combo of the name of character, number #001-400 or #1-50, series 1-4, Welcome Amiibo RV, animal type, or birthday! I’m still trying to figure out what each lines would be for the psa label but this card info might look like:
Special Character… #006
Resseti
Animal Crossing Amiibo-series 1
You may ask “Where is the market? What characters are better than others?” There is a Popularity chart & a common understanding of the “dreamy” characters. Some characters can cost more depending on demand! And you can store their furniture on the amiibo chip so that can be valuable too.
I painted a realistic statue head of a rhino about 2 years ago. Merengue is one of my daughter’s favorite cutie villagers. Found the silver statue at Ross & I had to paint it! Only ACNL fans would understand so I inserted the amiibo card! Lol
I want to expand my animal crossing games but acnl kept me busy. I like the town hopping. I haven’t played in awhile though. If the new switch game doesn’t make use of the 450+ amiibo cards, I may dip into older games.
WOW!!! Thank you so much @mthursty! I like reading the bios on the back of the cards. This is an awesome website! May collect my favorite individual cards or try to find whole sets.
Yes I love this site as well. The original guy who made it known as Pixelboy was obsessed with the eReader. If you look at the interview section you can see how in love with the tech he was.
At some point the dot code was cracked by either him or some others which resulted in a program that can create its own custom code!
Why are the prices on those cards so different? Some are selling for $2 others are selling for over $20 on eBay? I read somewhere, that all cards were produced in the same quantity.
Some are considered more popular or “Dreamies” than others. There is a level system of cards that most people want in their animal crossing town. A lot of people claim some cards are “hard to pull” but it’s all random.
Good time to buy Animal Crossing Amiibo cards. You can still find boxes from series 1-4 for $40-$90 (108 cards per box) on eBay. That is really cheap considering the fact, that some individual cards are selling for up to $20.
Don’t wait untill the new AC Switch gets revealed at E3(?).
Some definitely love other characters but it’s mostly a wide “dreamie”, popular, regular and unpopular category. It is well respected for the most part. People have their favorites for random reasons but selling amiibos, they price gauge dreamies from this list. Think psa 9 to psa 10s because they can. Or psa 8 to psa 9 maybe the character has a lot of useful theme items. It’s all just a way to split characters up & someone figured out how to money grab first!
Edit with interview:
Can you confirm that Animal Crossing New Horizons will be compatible with the amiibo range?
AK: Given the number of cards and figures available, we obviously think New Horizons compatible with amiibo, but I can not tell you more about this compatibility at this stage of development.
Here’s a list & I discovered an art variant of the Police Dogs in japanese that I need!!! So I found a series 2 SP set so hopefully it arrives safe! I wasn’t sure if Mandrake listings were current or not so I got from Amazon.
