They are very playable card effects, doubt they be that rare.
Lugia from the set will be just a regular holo, was really hoping it would be released as amazing rare but oh well

My fingers are crossed that amazing rares will be in more sets and we’ll still get that amazing rare lugia. Could make sense too, leave some heavy hitters out for the next set. Hopefully

Also I’m beyond excited for Amazing Rares. These are the first modern cards that make me want to collect them as a set. Neither Rainbow Rares nor Shiny GX Rares nor Gold Secret Rares managed to awake my interest, but these do, and for good reason. They remind me of Gold Stars. The colors which are exceeding the border while keeping the card art in a regular format (not full art), the distribution of the Pokemon over multiple sets (I assume?), the role they have in the sets they appear in (they are not the generation-specific rarity which would be V/Vmax and which has been ex back in the days, but rather an extra rarity like Gold Stars) and the rainbow blotch that they all have in common which gives them a shared identity.
I really hope they keep the overall number of Amazing Rares small (~20-30 species) and give them a hefty pull rate that alleviates the high card quality and the resulting PSA 10 count.

He pulled an Amazing Rare in the 5th pack. So it’s not one per pack, but probably not crazy rare either, or he just got lucky. Also nice to see these cards live. I really dig the foil
