Can you clarify your title? I’m not sure what you mean.
Is your question why a lot of collectors live in Australia? That’s because Pokemon was introduced to Australia just like it was to the U.S., Canada, U.K., etc.

i just noticed alot of really clean cards ive purchased came from australia especially alot of diamond and pearl cards, and alot of big collectors are from there, i was just wondering how the pokemon hype was there early on
Pokemania was huge in Australia when the show first aired here. For the TCG we even had our own unique promo cards released in the early days such as the Poketour 99 Pikachu and the Dark Charmeleon W stamp cards.
In more recent times, one third of all Australians with a smart phone played Pokemon go. It was massive and a lot of that carries on to this day. When there’s a promotion at McDonald’s for example, people line up to get their cards and they run out of stock every time.

Australian 
collector here. While I don’t have info on the proportion of people in Aus vs other countries who collect Pokemon, the market is far smaller here.
We have less than 8% the population of the USA. While there are definitely some big collectors who you may have had contact with, we don’t compare to the numbers of these collectors in other countries such as USA, Japan, and likely a few larger European countries
