Hello everyone!

This thread will serve as a place to share my adventures in Pokémon-carding and to show my collection. I’ve been a Pokémon fan since the late 90s, and it was also around this time that I first got into the TCG. I stopped collecting around 20 years ago, but I just returned to the hobby earlier this year and I’m really excited to be back!

So, my current main goals are the following:

  • Complete the first four Japanese sets (EARLY PROGRESS): “Expansion Pack”, “Pokémon Jungle”, “Mystery of the Fossils” and “Rocket Gang”;

  • Get some of the early Japanese promos. I have about 18 spaces reserved for Japanese promos in my binder, but I haven’t still decided all the ones I want to get. But some of the ones I want to get are: the 1996 CoroCoro glossy Pikachu and Jigglypuff (as well as their non-glossy versions), the CoroCoro Mew (and its non-glossy version) and the “Trade Please” versions of Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard;

  • English WOTC promos (PARTLY COMPLETED): WOTC Promo #1, 1999 “Pokémon: The First Movie” promos (#2 - #5) + inserts, “Pokémon 2000” Legendary Birds promos (#21 - #23) + insert, WOTC Promos #8, #10, #11 and #14.

I also have a “side goal” related to vintage booster packs. I’m currently looking to collect the (empty) packs of the first four Japanese sets, to go along with my cards collection. I’m almost there, only missing the “Rocket Gang” pack.

Here is my current English collection, including Base Set 2 cards that I got as kid. I don’t intend to complete Base Set 2 or any other English set at this moment, but these are my most treasured cards that I got as kid, as Base Set 2 was my first introduction into the hobby - and also a big part of why I became a Pokémon fan.

So far, I have only 25 out of 102 cards from “Expansion Pack”, and none of the other three following sets. I won’t be posting photos of them yet cause the pages are still pretty empty as you can imagine. I’ll make sure to share the collection with you as soon as I have more cards!

Beautiful collection. As a Wotc collector, I really enjoyed looking at these cards.

Very lovely binder that you have posted and also really great collection goal. It would be really fun to follow along on your journey as you keep filling your binder pages. Looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing.
