Hi all, the link above shows photos and videos on my concerns.
I’m after some advice from those with expertise on 1st Ed Stamps.
I had this arrive today and had an odd feeling looking at the stamp. I’ve owned a couple of 1st Eds but not enough to know for sure, as the genuine stamps vary.
However this one seems a bit too low in position.
Also to the right side of the “1” there appears to be an indentation almost as if it’s caused by something the thickness of a pin, seems like an odd spot for that type of defect too.
Also there is discolouration to the right of the number 1, as if the black has faded exposing some blue.
The biggest thing for me is it also seems like a combination of the “thick” and “thin” stamp. The number one matches a “thick” stamp while the word edition matches a “thin” stamp.
I’ve been looking online like crazy to find a matching stamp to prove me wrong but am yet to find one.
My suspicion is that the card is a shadowless with a stamp applied to pass as a genuine 1st edition and this slipped through psa.
I tried convincing myself that psa wouldn’t miss something like this but had someone send me a graded psa 1st edition clefairy with an obvious false stamp applied to it.
If anyone has more info to prove me wrong or right please let me know. I would hate to cause the seller trouble if it is in fact a genuine 1st edition but there’s so many questions and I’d hate more so for this to be a fake stamp and be stuck with this.
