About cleaning a pokemon card

Does anybody know someone who can clean this one up?

I don’t really know if this is possible, please help. The front of the card is perfect but the back is messed up… card worth 7.5k at PSA 10 but the back is screwed. Help?

Some 120 grit sandpaper will clean that right up!

Don’t forget the cobalt blue paint at the hardware store to cover up the whitening on the back.

If you shine a light on it for 72 hours the white parts go back to being blue IYKYK

120 might be too coarse for that kind of damage. I suggest 600 or higher

Well you start with the 120 at first and then you go up gradually to the 600. 600 should be enough that you can buff it afterwards to a nice clean shine. Of course you’ll need the paint suggested above to fill in any remaining white parts. Then it’ll be all set for PSA.

Leave in a bath of acetone for 6-8 hours. If you don’t have acetone, nail polish remover will do. Make sure the bath is well covered, exposing to light will give you bad results.

If you’d like instructions, here’s a link with a step by step

Good luck!

Submerge it in a vinegar-based solution overnight, 5 cups vinegar, 1 bottle of Heineken, tbsp lime juice, pinch of salt, and itll basically be a PSA 10 by morning. Trust me on this bro

Ah you’re right, sorry I’m still learning how to fix cards. Would you recommend linseed or tung oil to finish?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t think your card is ever gonna be close to a PSA 10

This can’t be fixed, sorry. Also, altering cards makes you a loser. You’ll no longer be known as CoolGuy if you alter cards.

That sucks because the front is basically perfect.

I’m sorry that everyone is being a jerk here, I’ve got some actual advice for you:

To remove that creasing and edge wear, fill up a large cup with about 16 oz of whole milk. Once filled, drop the card in and let it soak for about 15 hours at room temperature. The fats from the milk will fill in and smooth out any crease. The last (and most important!) step is after the 15 hour soak is up, you need to add blue food coloring dye to the milk, then stir (with the card still in the milk) for exactly 72 seconds. The blue dye will recolor any edgewear or corner damage.

I’m pretty sure this method works close to 100% of the time.

No, this is actually one of the best possible outcomes for you. Put it in a binder and never see that ugly back ever again.

This is correct, but only with certain brands of milk. Also, on that last step, if you throw in a pouch of yellow cheese powder, and add a little butter, the grit from the powder will take care of any edge wear on the front-side border, making the card NEARLY PSA 10 immaculate. Good luck.
