Aquapolis a/b variations completed.
I had to move of 2 spaces almost the whole collection to fit the recently obtained “b” variation
I take this opportunity to show the sleeves I’m using for the TCG section of my collection.
Italian brand, really well made and I suggest to check also their selection of binders and perfect sleeves.

From the Rocket Game Corner, coinssssss!
Not a huge fan of coins but I found them while buying some other cards and I couldn’t resist
I know that also the “gold” versions exist, but I’m not really after them, If you have more info feel free to join/add!

Just catching up on this thread now, and what a great species collection you have so far! So many Base Set Porygons—it’s great that you have the unlimited Korean too, as I know that’s been a pain for some other species collectors. Why does the Aquapolis Porygon have the a/b version anyway? I knew it existed, but don’t know why. Just checking in to if you have any idea!
Always great to see non-TCG too—great start to the sticker/card/other stuff collection. I am a big fan of non-TCG, and limiting it to anything that fits in a binder is a great way to selectively collect your species while not being overwhelmed by the massive amounts of Gen I stuff there is out there. Sleeves are also a really great collectible, given how cheap most of them are for the great art they have. Regarding the coins, I think the gold versions only exist for the Johto pokemon, so only Porygon2 might have an alternate version (not that it matters that much if you aren’t planning to collect the gold versions anyway).
Looking forward to future updates (and the eventual Fan Club Porygon
)!

Forgot to mention that if you’re into variant collecting, there are the Neo Rev “double holos” (not that big a difference on Porygon2 though) and the EX era serial code variants. Just letting you know in case you weren’t aware

Thanks for the nice words!
I’m happy you’ve enjoyed my collection.
I put some rules but I like to hear advices from other collectors. For example I’m thinking to expand my collection, maybe only for vintage holos, also to JPN cards.
I remember that the a/b differs for the code that could be scanned through the e-reader to unlock different features in the GBA games.
I love cards but I find some of the not-TCG stuff very intriguing, maybe it’s because we don’t see them very often.
I dream of a complete Topps collection but the prices of the foil variations are now crazy.

Bought some glass today.
Broke sone glass also.
I’m sorry but the binder rule is strict and unremovable! (I should also add easier to do if the slabbed card is not a 1st Edition Charizard…)

Big update!
MTG x Pokemon crossover!
After taking inspiration from @viridian huge and amazing collection project, I decided to start this journey into the Magic Artist Proof world!
I have been a fan of RK Post artworks since playing “Dredge” in Legacy, where Ichorid was one of the staples of the deck. I wanted to choose a card that could have some connection to Porygon or at least his “bio-technological” world and nature.
This is not a played card or at least I never saw a deck playing it, but I’ve been always attracted by the art and his science-fiction “aura”.
I tried to request a very specific artwork to RK to get a deeper connection to the original artwork but I think it’s not something RK usually does, also seeing his past commission. For your information I asked for the Vedalken to “evoke” a Porygon-Z instead of a generic light like we have in the artork.
Anyway finally I got this re-interpretation of Porygon-Z by RK Post and I’m completely fine with it!
Also because it’s a legendary artist for me and it’s part of my childhood (Mirrodin expansion came out when I started to play in 2003)
The photos don’t give enough justice to the quality of the work and I love the small details on Porygon body.
Now I’m chasing 2 artists for other APs and another one is on its way (from an Italian artist) and it’s really amazing, stay tuned!

Congrats on your first one! It looks great.
In my experience, I agree that it’s quite hit and miss with giving artists instructions. Some artists will consult very closely with you and ask how you want some things posed. Others will mostly ignore directions and just draw as they see fit lol. It really depends person to person.
Definitely worth a try though. If you have a good vision, you may inspire the artist to do something neither of you realized at first!

Yes, maybe it also depends how “big” is the artist and how much he/she likes the subject.
The commission that will be soon in my hands it’s completely different and I had the possibility to have a longer dialogue with the artist.
Also I think Porygons are not the best subjects, not easy to animate a ugly creature made of polygons ahahahaha!

Yes very true! Every artist is different. Cool, looking forward to seeing more of them! I think they’re gonna turn out great.

Wow, I think the sketch looks great and also kind of gives insight into the artists own style even if it does not 100% match the instructions. Congratulations on your first copy and all the success with the others. Thanks for sharing, it is a very lovely update.
Cheers!

Mail day!
This card has a curious story!
I was looking on Reddit for some Porygon errors when I stumbled across another Porygon collector.
We started to chat and discuss about our collections when we decided to do an international trade via ordinary mail, something I’ve never done in my life.
Of course we’re talking about cards with a very low value but the experience was amazing, last trade I made was in elementary school
I’m shocked that I’ve received his card, from Canada to Italy, in one week!!! I hope he will receive my card too…

Finally it’s here!
New Artist Proof for my MTG x Pokemon section, now I’ll stop for a while.
This time I have a great pencil sketch by Italian Artist Michele Giorgi, drawn on his card “No Witnesses” from Murders at Karlov Manor.
I choose this card because I immediately found a connection with Porygon, being an artificial creature it’s not easy so I decided to detonate him…
I’ve sent to Michele my ideas and he perfectly understood the message.
In few days he created a beautiful interpretation of an exploding Porygon, the “silver” details are a stunning touch of class!
I’m really proud to have an Italian artist on MTG cards, you can give a look to his illustration and are amazing: a:"michele giorgi" · Scryfall Magic The Gathering Search

Hey! Just found this post and love it! I’m a fellow Porygon collector myself. Super jealous of your Korean unlimited Base
I’ve gotten into collecting misc items outside the TCG. I think my favorite section of my collection is my vending stickers - this page has Sabrina’s Porygon in all different kinds of holo patterns:
I have a note on your English master set, depending on how granular you want to get: on the early EX sets, the cards have multiple different codes in the bottom left corner. There are only 3 sets that affect Porygon:
EX FireRed & LeafGreen
Reverse Holo Code - 7R0-PW0-7H1
Non Holo Code 1 - 7R0-PW0-7H1
Non Holo Code 2 - 7R0-PW0-6AM
EX Unseen Forces
Reverse Holo Code - WJ1-M81-F3X
Non Holo Code 1 - WJ1-M81-NB5
Non Holo Code 2 - WJ1-M81-P0P
Non Holo Code 3 - WJ1-M81-C66
EX Delta Species
Reverse Holo Code - ZWT-GFX-YNZ
Non Holo Code 1 - ZWT-GFX-8NB
Non Holo Code 2 - ZWT-GFX-KLG
Non Holo Code 3 - ZWT-GFX-IU3
Hopefully that doesn’t throw things too out of whack!
I’ve also got a bunch of stickers and random non-tcg items, if you’re interested lmk!

Hi, welcome to the forum!
Happy to meet another Porygon collector
Yes I know the code variation but it’s not part of my goals at the moment, I have some really rare missing cards and stickers and I prefer to concentrate my efforts on those!
About your vending collection it’s the first time I see so many variations, are those officials or bootlegs?

Yeah that totally makes sense about the code variants.
As far as the vending stickers go, I don’t think they’re official. They do have very consistent manufacturing, but I’ve never found (or really looked for) any resource that explains much about them. The collection started slow, but picked up after I found about 4. Now I’m always looking out for different holo patterns.
I’ve got a few extras along with other stickers and misc below. Let me know if I can help fill any gaps in your collection!

I’m after the Bandai Pokemon Quest sticker, they are hard to find?
I have also a spare copy of an Amada sticker to trade if you want! Need to check if the blue or red one.
