How does one get there hands on these I really want that snorlax ![]()
Also iv noticed cgc are grading the cards out of Peru and China that are not offical but have a legitimate back stories as third party cards. I guess while some ppl only want legit items graded if someone happy to pay for a custom card to be slabbed as long as the label clearly states it not offical I donât really see an issue
good luck to fake news host psyduck on this hot topic.
(I will still eat @ReporterPsyduck if and when given a chance).
I think itâs quite sad that these are being sold. I am sure that they may mean a great deal to the children who actually competed in the Danish Nationals. No doubt they will sell for a pretty penny to species collectors or trophy speculators.
The trend of discovering and advertising historically significant cards and then immediately selling them is a bit exhausting.
No indication that they are fan made and now apparently they are âtrophyâ cards. What exactly is âAuthenticâ about these things? Honestly itâs utterly embarrassing.
But with the state of this hobby I bet someone will still pay out $500 for one of these. Itâs hard to express how gross this makes me feel. Just another push toward me wanting to dump my entire collection and be done with this hobby.
The AI listing description is the icing on the cake. Maybe E4 Members could make these with your pictures / avatars for Worldâs 2025 meetup, and in twenty years you could grade these them as World Championship Collector Trophy cards and get rich!
Alright, Iâm totally convincedâtime to crossgrade all my CGC cards. This is so badâŠ
Little do we know @slade is sitting on a goldmine with the signature exchange cardsâŠ

The entire CGC label for these cards is a lie.
They are not âPokemonâ cards. They are not âtrophyâ cards. Putting ânot for playâ on the label likens them to FPO or test cards, which they are not. They are not âauthenticâ under even the loosest interpretation of that phrase, least of all when you consider how CGC has labeled them. At least the Goldin description mentions what these cards are, just going from the CGC label you would think these cards were produced and distributed by TPCI.
I am not surprised at this point by CGCâs truly abhorrent authentication practices, but this goes even further than what I thought they would do with these cards if they graded them. If it werenât clear by now, a card being authenticated by CGC means absolutely nothing.
Not to pat myself on the back, butâŠ
I agree altough i wouldnt have slabbed these at all. If they really wanted to slab these put fanmade, custom card, proxy. Home made replica something to distinguish these from real cards.
Very sad that these are not transparent in what they are.
Much like the psa sketch autos on similar custom cards labeled âCutsâ a few years ago ![]()
Itâs annoying because itâs not that Iâm simply against slabbing these cards. Thereâs a right way to do it that actually is transparent and tells people what these things are. Then itâs up to them to decide if they like them enough to purchase. Instead, this is the complete opposite of that.
If e4 didnât exist and I was forced to interact with the mainstream hobby on IG, Reddit, FB Marketplace, etc., I donât think that I would last very long. There is so much drama and noise in Pokemon at the moment, but the degens of e4 make it worth it for me.
There have been many CGC cashgrabs in the past 5 years, but I think these take the cake.

My opinion hasnât changed at all on these.
Iâm 100% with you. Those cards are no more authentic than these things:
The way those are being presented is foul and misleading. Never in their history were they treated as anything other than homemade mementos for those players to give to their opponents at the World Championships.

Crazy stuff. Is everything ok with CGC?
Agreed, the history is worth documenting, but to mislabel these as trophy cards is a disappointing twist of greed
As long as you pay the grading fee, yes
