Any idea why 1st edition stamps on the back of cards (pic related) can occur/have you had any experience with this?
Seems to be in the location of the first edition stamp from a card stacked behind the card while in storage or in a pack?

@jb444,Stacking sheets before ink was dry. This also lead to the obverse card having a light stamp as it lost ink, or so I have read.
@kanesport15 is indeed correct. We don’t know for sure of course, but that’s the most likely scenario.
I also go over both the black and white back 1st edition stamped Base Set cards in my 1st edition stamp variations article.

sorry to resurrect this thread but i found what i think is a similar error…which i didn’t see in the guide
on the back of two first edition kadabras-what seems to be mirror image of clefairy heart stamp…is there terminology for any of these errors (this error and the above errors)? “backstamps”? “tramp stamps”?
