It’s 80k now!? Holy moley…

He even made the offer in Times New Roman. This guy is not messing around.

I’ve got a very nice 1st edition gym hero’s box that id let go of for the low price of $75000. I think that fits the parameters you requested

That shocks me more than the gigantic amount of cash he’s offering tbh

That is a great offer! Goodluck

I was offered 100k from a top ebayer and member here. I passed of course;)

I’ve had (2) sellers but all are asking $90k+ as well. If you don’t mind, do you have an opinion on what they would cost? I thought $80k was a fair price as they are so scarce.

There are intangibles to this box that can add value. In Gary’s case (no pun intended) he has provenance. With heritage or other businesses, they may offer a guarantee or insurance on the authenticity.

Ultimately like with anything high end/very rare, the price is decided between the buyer and seller rather than a consistent “market value”.

That contact I gave you had sold his other 1st ed base box for 90K a few weeks ago he told me, not sure why he would lie as he has always been truthful on prices, and he is a part of a large company.

I’ve gotten maybe a dozen offers (all declined, not selling) for 1st edition base set heavy packs with a guaranteed holo inside for $5000-$5500 a pack.

$5250 X 12 holos in a box = $63,000. The 24 light packs you can easily sell for $1,200 each (24 x $1,200)= $28,800. That is $92K right there. Plus of course, there is the fact that it is a super rare, sealed, 1st ever printing of English pokemon. If there was no such thing as fake boxes, it would’ve averaged over 100K already in my opinion. I think really that was the only thing holding that back.

The last one sold at auction was around $52k I believe.

Plus buyer premium it was in the 60s. I don’t think you’ll see 60s again, but if so, please let me know about it!

I appreciate the help Jcincy101. I’ll find it one of these days.

PokeOlivr, 100% with you on hounding Ebay. I didn’t believe anyone would bat an eye on a $60k offer, but I appreciate you offering info for me

Also looking for (the obvious) 1st Edition Base Set PSA 10 Charizard

I’m not picking on you, just talking in general. This is one of those statements I hate. Market price isn’t past results, it’s what’s available on the market now. It changes constantly, if you want to use past results as guides that’s fine, but in this case when someone is offering 80k and can’t get one yet the ‘last one sold’ was for less, it looks like past results is pretty worthless information.

No worries, I was just trying to add some info.
I agree with you, this item isn’t something you can buy at any time. So what it’s worth is fluctuating everytime it’s up for sale.

Tell that to the prototype nintendo playstation.

Only reason why you won’t see that price again is because now multiple have been successfully box broken since then and sold out of all the packs for 90k. Whenever that happens with a booster box well then that becomes the new price cause if they can’t get that price of 90k without breaking the box then they will just break it and get their 90k that way. If you offered 60k before any of those box breaks happened I’m sure you could find a seller.

Since it was a buyer’s premium I assume it wasn’t on eBay. Where did this auction take place?

Also how many burritos is $52k? A metric sh*t ton
