I made a post awhile back whether it would be worth the experience to open a 1st edition WOTC box. After reading the responses, I decided if I ever buy a box, I will keep it sealed!
You can buy PSA 9 1st Edition Team Rocket cards for cheap. I don’t even think 10s are that expensive.

Part of me wants you to open it so there is one less box available and it will help prices rise. The other part of me wants to recommend what I would do (keep it sealed).

Watching other people open items is boring. Keep sealed unless you want to open yourself.

Disagree. I really enjoy box openings. Some of us don’t have the luxury of opening one ourselves so its a lot of fun watching others do it! If I had millions in Pokemon cards maybe I would find it boring too…glad I can still experience the excitement.

Sealed. Buy the singles right now since they’re stupid cheap and dont open the box. Buying all the hit cards wont set you back that much, including the non holo hits…
Sealed product was made to be opened. Let those cards breathe. Then encase the good ones back into a plastic tomb.

Yeah they are still very inexpensive for being 1st ed WOTC and in my opinion it has the best artwork out of all the sets.
Pulling a minty dark charizard would be epic though 
Financially I suppose its smarter to keep sealed but in the end you cannot put a price tag on nostalgia. I think either way you win.
Keep it sealed! There has been a huge amount of old product opening recently, I think long term you will be happier keeping it sealed. If you really want a Dark Charizard PSA 10 just buy one

I’d open it if you never have before. Nothing better than owning a Holo you pulled out of a pack yourself.

Ive been opening a pack a week from a gym challenge box for awhile now. It’s honestly been the most fun part of the hobby. From a purely investment POV you might lose out but I’ve really had a ball going through all of the cards and it’s an experience I won’t forget. I think you have a certain attachment to the graded cards you’ve pulled yourself from a pack. However, if you’ve got the funds buy another box and open one haha. Win/win

I would open it myself. Packs were meant to be opened and the cards inside admired and enjoyed.
Please keep it sealed, especially maybe you can sell it for a mid-tier trophy card in the future
