1st Ed Fossil Booster Box sold for $1k??

So i know i see that this sold for $1k not too long ago, but there has to be something fishy here. I would guess that the seller probably made up some excuse not to go through with the transaction afterwards because of the low bid finish, but I don believe ebay has anyway to tell if the transaction was truly completed or not. Does this sale look false?

Here’s my stance on every one off sale. Can it be repeated. If the answer is no it doesn’t matter. If you can show me where to buy another at $1k I’ll buy it.

Price fixing just doesn’t exist in Pokémon.

Buyer left positive feedback

If anything I’m just salted I missed the opportunity haha

Sometimes it happens more often with ebay sellers with lower feedback or newer on ebay. I am only saying that off a couple of sold listings I have seen.

That sale was legit.

If my 1st edition fossil boxes dropped back down to 2017 prices I’m gonna be piiiissssssssssedd

On the same day this was purchased, the same buyer bought (from the same seller) a base set box and 1st edition team rocket box for $4K and $3K respectively.

I’m not sure on the current market value of these boxes but it looks like this fossil box was part of a collective deal

I’d say calm down, the market won’t collapse because the organic demand fuelled by nostalgia for these sets is always there. The more of these boxes are cracked, the less are left and the more people buy them who actually want to keep them sealed forever the fewer boxes there are left too yada yada
