I was offered this box first (and maxed my offer at 45k) Since she passed I recommended the H&S route. Here it is. The box is clean.
It would be interesting to see how this goes.
On one hand you have a big auction house that confirmed the authenticity but on the other it attracts a 23% buyers premium.
Given that a few boxes hit the market in 2018 and the latest one sold for 42k, my guess is this will sell for around 40k
That’s really interesting @garyis2000, but since @cosrob is correct and the box will get 40ish, why would she turn down your offer? That was seriously reasonable and wont she pay a fee for the auction? I imagine you offered cash, so that seemed a great offer.
Eyes to big for her stomach?
She knew the last one sold by that auction house legitimately sold for 66,000.00. We all saw that.
This made her think it could go higher.
In an high end legitimate auction house it may bring out some big ball players to the field looking to dabble outside of sports.
Really? 66? That’s more than I thought they were worth, but then again I could never be in on something like that…
I wonder if this seller has any more Pokémon product. What’s the story behind this box? I’d be curious to know where it came from.
66,920.00 but after fees the owner got 56,000.00
Yes, I’d like to know too.
I like seeing this for the hobby. It was only a matter of time before the big auction houses caught on to selling Pokemon sealed boxes and graded cards. I predict that with the prices continuing to climb, that we will drift away from Ebay and only use auctions places since they will legitimize and authenticate the product and avoid scams. This will open up the hobby to big dealers and buyers.
Sold for 43k. She should of taken your offer of $45k.
Man these auctions houses need to get with the times. That website alone would deter me from bidding. The site probably hasn’t been updated since the release of the box.
Absolutely right lol.
jesus, if I had a spare 40k I would buy a nice small house. aw who am i kidding, 1st ed box all day baby
True.
I didn’t bid on this because I would have had to add a 20-23% premium.
There’s another one listed that’s already at 55,000 (66,000 after fees) with 7 days to go.
I was going to bid on the box but then I read the description and thought it was a garbage Ebay listing so I passed on it
(Note: this is a joke)
The website definitely needs an update.
