Just found it on PokeRevs channel and thought you might like it. I also edited my original wording because some guys have very delicate feelings…
Nice collection of PSA 5 and 6’s that guy has got there after handling them like that.
Like PokeRev (and some of the comments in the main video) said, there is a lot that doesn’t add up here.
I don’t understand how the non-holo piles are so low while the holo piles are stacked all the way up (not to mention that the holo piles are all stacked evenly). Leads me to believe that he didn’t pull these cards from packs and that perhaps someone in his family worked for WOTC or something.
Regardless, this was a lot of fun to see.
Dudes said he’s not selling. Cards are unsleeved and have been for 20 years, they have been rubbing against those binder sleeves so there won’t be any 10’s. Expecting the massive market to take a hit because of 100 extra base set Charizards is also laughable…
The market for unlimited isn’t going to change because of a hand full of cards. If those were 1st Ed that would be another story…
I have a lot of experience with binder dents from childhood cards being left in 3 ring binders.
Crazy find though!
Rev Likes using that $1,000,000 number lately haha.
I get it, the bigger the number the more clicks.
Not a single sleeve. I would cringe but if this dude wants to ruin his own collection thats fine by me.
To be fair most of those cards were probably scratched up anyways.
Unlimited stands for unlimited supply. Let me ask you guys this. Have you ever checked eBay and there was a lack of base unlimited cards? Or any unlimited set for that matter? There’s so much focus on the most heavily printed Wotc sets: Base unlimited, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket. Great sets but there’s plenty of better sets and artwork in my opinion. Not to mention the supply pales in comparison compared to one of the original 4 sets.
I’m just trying to wrap my head around the math here. What type of circumstances did someone have so that they had access to over 200 booster boxes worth of packs, that as a child they were able to open up? Packs growing up were $3, how were they able to open up over 6000 of these as kids? Possibly if they are just wealthy I guess…
There might be some funny business here similar to the gold star dogs. I do remember from TCA gamings interviews that you could get complete base sets for 20 to $50 a piece probably less. There was somebody on Instagram who showed a screenshot of their order from the 2000s. they had a mint condition gold star and a mint condition first edition shining card for 10 and $15 respectively. I imagine pre 2010 you would have been able to get large lots like this for very cheap
You might be able to pick up a few sets like that but to acquire huge quantities would be near impossible, availability back then would be an issue. Considering the non holos seem to all be 1999-2000 and the OP is from the UK might be the classic my uncle works for WOTC or just madman buying back in the day. What makes me doubt madman buying is the seemingly equal quantity of all the holos and the lack of other sets. Also if you were buying product for years you would surely have a mix of sets not just unl base but yeah anything is possible I guess lol.
Would love to know the rest of the story, hopefully we find out more
Dang that is just crazy to think about all those base packs opened by one person.
Oh shit I got 145 Pagani Zondas that were washed away in a tsunami sitting in a field on my property. Be careful or I will put them all up for sale and crash the market.
Hurts my heart to see the thumbnail.
GET THE MAN SOME DAMN SLEEEVESSSS
This ^^
The market isn’t going to change for the most printed set in the hobby, but as Hammy stated, it would be another story entirely if it was from 1st edition base, let alone any other 1st edition or post-Neo set ~
an extra 100 zard in psa 6 is going to do jack s to the market. a drop in the pan, a drip in the bucket, a grain of sand on a beach. Na-da, diddly squat.
Wait until I unveil my $7,000,000,000 Rowlet collection
