Hey everyone I’ve been recently looking at buying some video games (graded, CIB, any form really) and was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions for YouTube channels I could watch to learn about the hobby?
Given the timeframe of early 2000s to about 2021 which is when retro gaming was booming for about the first time for 20 pretty strong years, most content were frankly online forums and blogs. You had Atari then NES collectors and it went from there. Most “collecting” were sourcing videos like garage sales and flea market finds, but really it was mostly showcasing hidden gems and showing gameplay—the collecting piece was on you.
Some of the best content and websites I used to frequent for collecting research have literally been scrubbed from the internet. Sad. But here’s some that have great content, each with their own twist, that you might need to go back many years in the archives for content you are looking for.
if u are looking for deep dives on how to tell authentic copies and such that knowledge is quite old so most of it would be on old forum posts and such
also alot of variant knowledge was on nintendoage which is currently buried in the asshole of daddy gocollect 
but thankfully wata/psa has most of this available on the pops kinda
currently getthegreg youtube would prolly be the best place for actual collecting knowledge like variants and such
