“ You will be automatically enrolled in eBay International Shipping soon”

Any one else get this email from eBay?

Will this be possible to opt out of? Or are we required to sell international now?

I heard this happening to some sellers late last year. Apparently it was a glitch and they were able to opt out of it. eBay can’t just force you to sell internationally.

Ok thanks. I’ll report back if I can’t opt out.

Why not take this option though? Isn’t this through the global shipping program? Or is just regular international shipping?

If it is through the new program, there is no incentive to decline international sales. There are no additional fees. You ship to the eBay USA location and once they receive it, you are guaranteed your money.

Increased buyer pool with no risk? Yes, take it

Slippery slope from forcing you to do something that has “no downside” to being stuck in something they’ve slowly eroded all positives from.

To be fair one downside I can see is not having control over how much you charge for international shipping.

You charge the same as USA vs international because it goes to the USA location. So you get $5 shipping regardless of who buys

For me this has been a pain cause the standard shipping on any card to Norway with this is 25-27.5$ even for a 1$ card

The seller can put a 2nd shipping option for standard shipping. That is what I do, I put $1.45 for stamped envelope direct, or $5 for the ebay program

Ebay charges the buyer a separate fee that the seller can’t adjust. It makes sense because they literally have to process it, but as a seller you should be able to opt out of that if you want.

Once upon a time in a dense forest, there lived a group of animals. Among them were two best friends, a squirrel named Nessa and a rabbit named Remy. They had been friends since they were young and had always looked out for one another.

One day, as they wandered through the forest, they stumbled upon a large tree laden with ripe, delicious fruits. The fruits were the juiciest and most aromatic they had ever seen, and Nessa couldn’t wait to try one.

However, Remy was hesitant. “Nessa, these fruits look so good now, but what if they become less good in the future? What if we come back tomorrow and find that they’ve all spoiled? We should leave them for now and come back later.”

Nessa looked at her friend with confusion. “Remy, the fruits are perfect right now. Why would we not enjoy them while they’re at their best? Who knows what the future will bring? They could be gone tomorrow, eaten by other animals or spoiled by weather.”

But Remy refused to listen. He was so afraid that the fruits would become less good in the future that he couldn’t bring himself to enjoy them now. He pleaded with Nessa to leave the fruits alone.

Nessa, wanting to respect her friend’s opinion, reluctantly agreed, and the two friends left the tree.

The next day, they returned to the tree to check on the fruits. To their surprise, they discovered that other animals had come and eaten all the ripe, delicious fruits. Only a few rotten ones remained, now inedible and unappetizing.

Remy hung his head in disappointment. “You were right, Nessa. I let my fear of what might happen in the future prevent me from enjoying the good things in front of me. I should have savored the fruits when they were at their best.”

I was automatically enrolled in my last auction block and you just ship to a hub in the us.

GSP is so nice for sellers. No risk of a lost package falling on your shoulders. No hassle dealing with customs forms.

Of course for buyers, it’s typically significantly more expensive, especially where you need to pay import taxes

And the next day when all their furry friends that lacked the ability to think critically we’re dead, they found out the fruits were indeed poisonous and not as perfect as they thought.

Why are you reluctant to sell internationally?

What is the issue from a selling standpoint? I get the cost side for a buyer, but for a seller it’s just like shipping to a domestic customer.

If it’s the only option available then I can definitely see it negatively affecting international sales, particularly for cheaper cards.

There are a lot times I see something listed for ~$15 and the shipping price is well over double that.

It might sound like nitpicking but when you’re trying to buy a multiple cheap cards from different sellers, paying $10-15 extra in shipping all the time starts to wear.

*If they keep the option for both then it’s clearly a nonissue

It’s up to the seller to add the stamped envelope option. Ebay listing defaults to eBay international shipping. The seller has to go in manually and add it. If you see a cheap card for $4 and there is $26 shipping, just message the seller asking if they would do stamped envelope for $2 or $3.

I’ve been using this new service for the last several weeks and my sales have probably increased 15-20%, many of which are Chinese buyers. So far I’ve had no issues, way better than GSP ime, particularly because eBay now handles international returns,

I recently had a customer open a case saying the item was not received, ebay notified me and in the same email said they’ll take care of everything. Even says they’d block negative feedback.
