Thanks for this. I already contacted him and he sent me more pictures. He’s a really nice guy but I didn’t want to purchase the card due to the bit of curling that you pointed out.
If you look at that seller pictures, the corner is pretty bad. There is actually 2 dings on the corner. Since the back isn’t affected, it appears the the front face of the card is peeling from that corner. I personally would not consider that a 9 or a 10.
It is my card, was disappointed when I bought it a while back, and have tried to make it known that it is for sure a weak 10.
I’m pretty sure it isn’t peeling (but I’ll have to look again), the bend/crease/flip/whatever you want to call it is just not deep enough to show on the back. I’d say it is more “curled” than creased/peeled, hence why it is tough to see anything on the back.
Sorry to have the focus on this card on your buy thread NewCollector, hopefully you find a much better copy
Have you tried reviewing the grade down with PSA? I mean if severe enough this shouldn’t be higher than a 6. I’ve seen Masakis with seemingly less blatant issues get a 6 often
@britishcolumbiazards it doesn’t cost anything though. They cover shipping both ways and pay you the fair market value lost between the old grade and the new grade. I’ve done it a few times and have never failed to get the grade revised down.
I do recommend to people that they not try to revise a 10 to a 9 or a 9 to an 8 if they feel a grade is “weak” due to the risk of PSA not agreeing and maintaining the same grade. Then it would indeed cost money. Only use it for blatant misgrades that you know PSA will agree on and you’ll make out well. Every time I have done it the card has dropped 2+ grades. I have a GS PSA 9 charizard with a holo crease at PSA right now for a review that I know they will drop it a few grades. I paid 9 price for it as part of a large collection and missed it initially but in it’s current state it is a blatant misgrade and should be and will be resolved at no cost or loss to me.
