I bought these two from card market and the seller stated they were NM. I want to keep the cards regardless but I was considering asking the seller for a discount since the condition is a bit worse than I expected, but at the same time I understand that the line between NM and EX might be fine sometimes, so that’s why I’m curious about your opinions.
I personally wouldnt classify it as NM, but thats where the problem lies. It can be considered NM depending on the person. You can dm sellers for pictures on cardmarket if youre curious, but I am always paranoid with sellers in todays market.
For the 1st card, it really depends. If the front of the card surface is clean, but the back has some minor flaws, then to me it could still be a NM card by my standards. This is also true if it’s a vintage card.
For the 2nd one, I’d say that’s more EX or MP to me. Corner is quite rough to me to be considered NM.
For the 1st card I regularly see cards listed like this as NM for selling purposes and I think its in line
For the second card, thats not near mint. The corner is terrible. Psa 6 if the front is absolutely perfect
I’d call the first card NM assuming there are no other flaws. The chip on the back bottom border doesn’t push it to to LP imo.
Second card is definitely LP imo. Aside from the rough bottom left corner, there is some level of whitening present on quite a bit of the edges. I don’t think the whitening is heavy enough to push this to MP, but that’s just my opinion.
That said, I assume cardmarket has its own grading guidelines published somewhere. Maybe they say different.
