I only have ads on Marktplaats with the soul purpose of scamming people. Highly overpriced product, because the idiots on it will always offer you less then half of your asking price. If I have to name every failed Marktplaats deal I did over the past year or so, the forums database will crash with the amount of text I try to feed into it.
But some fine examples:
Zard unlimited, looking good, even on the second photo’s/scan (NM7 for sure) the person sent to me. Upon arrival shipped poorly, card damaged. Corner got bend over, goodbye value. Refund? Buyer protection? Not on Marktplaats. OR… Buy a lot of 4 Ancient Mews, clear scans. One got small damage (indent on front, like someone pressed a coin in it) so I haggle him down to get that one card for free (because I knew, if I just buy 2 or 3, I’ll get the worse condition ones). He said one of them had the Nintedo typo on it. I couldn’t spot it but wasn’t aware of price difference at that time. First seller that had decent shipping, well packed. Except for the fact that he put 2 cards per sleeve, in dirty top loader. Completely taped shut on top. All four cards had foil peeling on the back, something that wasn’t shown on the scans. Called him out, complete silence. Called him out on new ads, he said I did it myself to get a refund. But no buyers protection so nothing I can do.
And I can go on and on and on. All Dutchies know; Marktplaats is the sewage drain of internet selling, just because 9/10 Dutchies are to stupid to use eBay, but when they finally do, they forgot that it’s eBay and think pulling off a bid after auction ending is ‘normal’. /Waves at a few new eBay users with -1 Feedback on first items they ever bought.
Marktplaats is so bad it feels like a breath of fresh air to have a seller that’s not scummy in one way or another. You know… how a seller should be at a bare minimum.
