Why Do We Collect?

The “vault” is just my tongue-in-cheek nickname for the place. In actuality, it’s a nondescript, unkempt storeroom in what used to be a Japanese restaurant and bar. (The traditional tatami dining rooms are still intact, and far more interesting — to me, anyway — than the storeroom itself.) The place does have a robust security system, though, so perhaps the term “vault” is apropos after all.

This is fascinating to know :3

Yeah @japanime, any more about this security system? Where the motion detectors are? The deactivation code maybe?

Laser grid, razor wire, Claymores, 50 caliber machine guns with intersecting lines of fire, infra red, sonic, and seismic sensors. 13 digit code, armed guards.

An army of ninja Pikachus protects the vault. :ninja:

Though I’m sure Nintendo would have a differing opinion about opening a TCG museum if they make no money from it :open_mouth:
Perhaps they can work in collaboration?

A recent addition?

Yes. Made necessary to keep mentally challenged IG users at bay.

I’m sure that the first person’s collection is Brady Haran of Numberphile and Hello Internet fame.

What else do you collect?

I collect because it fills a void left by my cripplingly low self-esteem and self hatred and gives me something to think about so I don’t have to confront the fact that I am a failure and constantly miss opportunities to improve myself.

I feel you bro @milhouse

Hmm why I collect. I am not completely sure the real reason. I enjoy having a hobby that not a lot of people have. And I enjoy telling my friends how much my “Pokemon” collection actually costs. They make fun of me but I own it because I really don’t give a flyin F what anyone thinks (negatively).

Is it not so annoying when they find it amusing yet if they bought just one holo they would be hooked? Hehe loosers.
