Why did so many investors flock towards Pokemon cards this decade?
Here’s my take. Could it be that Pokemon franchise hit $100 billion in sales in their 25+ year existence… above beating both Star Wars and Marvel.
When you have companies like Bloomberg, ~ a the global leader in business and financial data, news and insight - writing articles and videos to reporting these numbers and telling interested investors about booming pokemon cards, its inevitable of the monetary aspect will exist, as new investor money has poured into these treasured assets.
Long holders are going to be quite happy with either the monetary or the nostalgic collectible value from the cards as the beginning of the boom is only beginning.
Imagine collectors with dedicated room in their home to display their Pokemon Cards and collectibles, a mini personal museum acquired over the years. It’s happening.
With newer released cards, there will always be opportunities to buy within any budget… however the favored older cards will surely go up in value, so get them while you can. Any card. All the cards.
Do you disagree or Hm? Was it bitcrap, downfall of magic, or what brought these new collectors here? Maybe they all just randomly nostalgic-ly remembered pokemon at the same time and bought graded cards for the heck of it.
