Why are toploaders and penny sleeves suddenly so expensive?

Anywhere you go now toploaders and penny sleeves are now 3-5 times the price of what they were just a few months ago, even when buying in bulk. Does anyone know why this is the case?

Supply and demand?

Prolly also depends where you buy them from maybe? I have no clue honestly lol

It is likely the result of supply chain interruptions in China, where most of this stuff is made.

Good thing I stocked up a couple months ago. While everyone was buying toilet paper I was buying sleeves😎

A lot of plastic manufacturers were running on very low manpower or not at all during the lockdown around the world.

My store could not manage to get inventory on crisps because packaging companies were not producing enough packaging and the yogurt that comes into my store does not have the plastic spoon and cap on the top of the cups. And those are edibles (essential items) I’d say that card savers and toploaders will be on low supply for some time.
