There are a few first gen pokemon that I feel have been particularly shafted. Seaking comes to mind. Uncommon in its debut set and has at best had non holo rares.
That’s because it was one of the only Steel Pokemon. That quirk goes on today with some types like Fire, Electric and Steel because they only represent one type unlike Grass, Dark, Psychic and Ground.
So there is a higher chance Pokemon of certain overrepresented types get left out due to the number of Pokemon inside whilst Pokemon like Luxray get printed 3 or 4x in a generation.
The logic is any baby that debuted in the same generation as their evolved forms gets to be in so Togepi, Riolu and Toxel. The rest are shit out of luck.

Same thing happened similarly with dark back in the WOTC era since there were so few of the type pretty much all of the dark type holos consist of Houndoom, Tyranitar, and Umbreon besides Sneasel and Murkrow from VS. Its just not as obvious since no gen 1 mons got retyped to dark to be around for the full run.

Yeah but they still haven’t printed munchlax since sun moon yet he been used in advertising like worlds for example. And the majority of his cards are Japanese exclusive arts… for the amount snorlax gets printed you would think an extra munchlax tcg card would have popped up…
