Where can you sell bulk graded cards to?

Besides normal marketplaces, what companies can you sell your graded pokemon cards to? I’m thinking about cosignment, but I don’t think it’ll go too well with graded bulk cards…

Also unrelated but all of the sales are going to my Gold Star fund.

Do you have a local card store you can go to? Could just go and see if they offer anything. It’ll probably be like $6 a card or something though lol

The only one we have tried to lowball the shit outta me and my mom, so I don’t really trust them.

I’ll be honest man these are like $10 bargain bin slabs so if they offered you even close to like $6-7 per card I’d just take it

If they aren’t moving for you on eBay, card shops are going to mega lowball you. They are taking cards in that are guaranteed to sit for a year

I think FullGrip buys PSA for like $5/slab and CGC for like $2/slab as a pure liquidation idea.

Or sell mystery bags! :joy:

Probably gonna be my best bet, they litterally haven’t moved for over a year also…

Find the moms who know nothing about “pogeymanz” and tell them what a good deal that they’re getting paying $200 for 1,000 cards!

Was able to offload bulk like this locally during the covid bubble. Might be tougher now but this bubble makes people irrational and many are only entering Pokemon cards now.

I recommend listing them for auction on eBay. While they may sell for very little, they will sell. The main takeaway is gaining experience with selling. As long as you charge for shipping, you won’t be at a loss. As any loss you may incur through time you’re gaining valuable lessons which pays for itself.

You were giving an opportunity to better yourself with PFM’s generosity. Don’t squander this chance to gain selling experience.

If you have a local LGS actually willing to buy those I’d just sell them and get what you get.

I’ll probably do this. I need to learn how to handle graded slabs some more, as I might pursue as a eventual business plan.

Just a reminder, the reason I sent you those was because of this thread Is flipping ungraded cards by grading them still good? - #41 by pfm where people were encouraging you to grade and flip cards for profit, and I said not to because you didn’t have the experience or capital at the time to make it work, especially in this competitive market. So I sent you the gift of experience.

For 20 CGC cards, the grading fees would have come out to $240 today plus s&h. Most of cards I sent were decent cards in mint condition, but they were generally were not going to sell quickly. The lesson being that it’s really hard to turn a profit with grading without having a strategy and are selective about what you send in.

Remember, if you graded those 20+ cards yourself then every card you make less than $12 profit on is a card where you would have more money today if you didn’t submit it. At least in this case, the cards were free so every dollar of profit is free money to you.

If you want to just liquidate them, an auction would be good because it gives you more ebay feedback and experience shipping packages, rather than just bulk selling to a store. You can also combine cards into one listing before auctioning like Riolu/Lucario or Machamp/Clefairy. That way you save on shipping and people are more enticed to bid.

On a side note, your card images have significantly improved, but still has more room for improvement.

I don’t know how some LGGs lowball so low mine does 40% with 50% store credit I get why the LGS goes so low but I don’t know how they get so much inventory as most people I’ve seen there sell for cash and not trade credit so they are getting 40% it’t really something that confuses me

Free advice, free lessons, free cards. Man to be 16 years old with this fourum back in the day.

  • Don’t send in every hit you get or see, most of the time your breaking even with margins
  • Just because the card is worth more dosen’t mean it’ll sell for more. Pretty sure a CGC 10 Paras won’t do too well in the market compared to a Blastoise from 151
  • There is a HIGH threshold to get into the grading business, as a lot of times even $600 could only amount to a few cards if they’re high quality, so you’ll have to either get high quantity (may be hard to move) or high quality (More money intensive)
  • It does matter who your grading with. BGS won’t beat CGC or PSA unless it’s a 10 or pristine 10, CGC will be comparable if not better to BGS but won’t beat PSA, and of course, PSA is the leader of the market.
  • Unless your a business with a buylist, it’s very difficult to buy and grade cards without the potential risk of eating a loss. Most of the time businesses have at least a 30-40% cushion to work with, while you have…well none really.

High experience, High Captial, High Risk, High Reward.
