I think that’s the most likely explanation! I remember when they made the change that you must accept return stuff to be a top rated seller, I got the email.
The boss’s reaction was ‘Well I guess we aren’t gonna be top rated anymore’
And yet here we are, top rated without returns.
The problem for us is that we sell a lot of High end Xeon processors- this stuff costs 3,500$, but in 30 days, it costs 3,000$. The prices go down that fast.
So we can’t possibly survive if we accept returns. A lot of this stuff we pay 3,000 for and try to sell for 3,500- we will get destroyed if someone returns the 3500$ processor a month later when it sells for 2900$ before eBay and PayPal fees.
But Pokémon stuff seems equally problematic to accept returns of. I see you’re selling a Pikachu card on eBay and the current bid is 7,500$. I don’t know how much it’s worth, let’s assume 50,000$ for the sake of the discussion.
The card is worth 50,000$ today, I can buy it, in a month it’s either gone up and it’s worth 60,000, if so I’ll keep it, but if it goes down to 40,000, I can just return it for 50?
It’s like investing in high risk stocks except you can only make money.
I assume you have some method of protecting yourself from people looking to make free bets at your expense.
By the way, I didn’t realize you were the founder of this amazing community. I am so happy to be a member here so I can learn about this amazing community, I have been here for two days and already doubled my knowledge of Pokémon collecting. Thank you for making this great place that has attracted so many knlowegeable and very wealthy, powerful people where anyone can go hang out with millionaires for free.
