I don’t know if anyone on here follows me on my Instagram (pokegrown), but I have quiet a tale to tell…story played out over a course of a few days. I get this text from my uncle (he knows I am a card collector)

I’m like who owns this card and how did you find that. It turns out its his buddies card and he is looking to sell it. I’m guessing the card grades at least an 8. We negotiate a little and he is thrilled about the final price. I get a text saying that he is throwing in a pack of cards that he found. I’m thinking cool maybe an unlimited pack or something, but no! It’s a freaking 1st Edition Charizard Base Set Pack!

I get the cards today, and I’m kind of bummed. I notice what looks to be water damage or moisture on the pack.

I weighed the pack and it weighed heavy. Now I am thinking holo or mold.

I toy with selling the pack on Instagram and get a few offers.

So, I ended up opening the pack…

Looks great slight curve to it…I’d say a 9 at psa after it spends some time in my encyclopedia.

Awesome story and awesome outcome! Congratulations!

P.S - 1st edition base packs come out of the box with those stains. It is not water marks. Mine, which are box fresh, have them…some more than others

Thanks for the heads up. This was the first 1st edition pack I’d ever seen in person. I compared to my unlimited pack and it looked fishy.
