As illustrated by your original post, the No Damaged Ninetales translates into a real value increase on the market as it’s an established and recognized error and has been for years. Holo bleeds aren’t really a thing that people paid attention to until recently and outside of some specific cases, they don’t typically translate into much additional value on the market. Not that there’s anything wrong about holo bleeds or collecting them, and it’s not that money is the only thing that matters.
But what is clear is that in general people care more about the missing number than some holo showing through on a card, which is reflected in the market premium. Other members above have touched on some reasons why.

Well what is nice or beautiful about children’s cardboard in general? If there are enough people enjoying it, it generates a certain value. It’s just what it is and arguing about it doesn’t lead anywhere.

It’s not so much about niceness or beauty, error cards will gain popularity often on how interesting the error is, along with the rarity of it.

Any holo card can have some amount of holo bleed. There’s like two different cards ever where they forgot to print attack damage.

yeah i get why it’s rare and valuable, but i will never understand what people like about it, other than the fact that it’s very rare.

People like rarity for its own sake. People like items that make their collections more distinctive. And in this case the error is attached to a beautiful card.

I think there’s also something charming about the error because it shows how haphazard the production at WOTC was in the early days of Pokémon.

Like I said I don’t seek out errors myself but I absolutely get why people do.

I usually sell all the error cards I come across when buying lots
But the no damage ninetales is an error card I would probably just keep in my collection

If PWCC had actually labeled their listing correctly, instead of always just using the PSA label this auction would probably be getting a lot more exposure and going for even more.

yeah i get why it’s rare and valuable, but i will never understand what people like about it, other than the fact that it’s very rare. i collect cards because i like the look of them, i will never buy a card that is very valuable just because it has an error. same with the no rarity japanese base set cards - yes there is no rarity, yes it’s very rare - so what.

If you never buy one for that reason it’s fine.
Personally I would never pay more for a card with holo bleed (would even pay more for ones without it for certain sets), nor would I pay more for cards with swirls.
I would pay more for this type of error card.
Collecting is a personal thing which is always going to differ from person to person.

well i don’t own any holobleeds myself, i’d just rather buy a holobleed than an error card. but yeah, everyone likes something else, and that’s a good thing, otherwise 99% of us couldn’t afford the cards we want because everyone wants the same ones.
