What's up with ex delta species holo/reverse holos?

I would have loved it too. I was planning on putting a bid, but it was taken down so quickly.

@Will It’s interesting to me that we see tons of holos, reverse holos, gold stars from EX Unseen Forces but not the EXs. Seems so strange.

The Gold Stars story is clear, but the holos and reverses must have been from cases. Where did the EXs go? Maybe sold right away and played with, so few mint copies exist? No clue.

Maybe it’s the psa pop report that’s wrong. Even on my set they can’t count lol.

1 plus 7 plus 3 equals 16

It was probably card rush, he is a large volume seller. He probably sold off the gold stars raw and held onto the other cards because they were not worth anything at the time. I found his subs and he definitely had volume of other sets as well. Just check this one out starting at 28224777 he graded 9 Reverse Holo Charizards from Platinum Arceus. The sub goes through 28224980 with other examples of him grading several copies of 1 card. There are quite a few Delta Species cards in this sub but he sent out 200-300 cards at a time. Delta Species is an easy set to grade, here are a couple examples from a sub I sent in 2020 of cards bought off eBay.

The answer to this question is just how the delta cards were printed > the glossy texture on the front is far easier to be clean/mint compared to the holographic foil in most ex sets (eg emerald/unseen). Some of the ‘delta’ style cards in later sets (eg frontiers) had other print issues. For instance, when you compare gold star mew/zard to a delta sepcies reverse/holo, the grading ratio is very different. There a lot less 10 to 9s for those cards compared to the holo/reverses in delta. One of the common issues with frontiers was both centering and corner wear out of the factory. Delta seems to have the best print quality in the ex era. Another factor is print lines > delta print lines aren’t dealt with the same way as normal holo print lines which look more like scratches. The print lines that occur on the glossy texture holos are often disregarded by PSA graders and they do not remove points for this. That is my experience having owned nearly all the rare psa 10 cards in delta species (and most ex sets)! Finally, the gold stars in delta have the holofoil and are harder to grade than rest of the delta species cards.
