Anecdotally, most people on the forum seem to have grown up during Gen 1. I don’t think the handful of younger people on this thread represents much.

I like the thread idea, but instead of providing personal information, how about a poll where you can’t see who voted for what? Then we can get a good idea of the age of people using the site.

Would be fascinating to see the results to this. But it would be nice to have a bit more detail for late-90s people. Something like this, maybe:

Was still on the shelves when I started playing, ~15 years after its release. My LGS had packs for sale at $1.99 ea (or 3 for $5) for ages lol – easily up through 2012/13.

Indeed. I was 8 when I first played Pokémon red, it just feels for me it was the exact perfect time and I’ve just grew alongside the first Pokémon gens. It is part of my childhood and it was perfectly timed

Earliest thing I can remember is POGS and the free D.A.R.E. baseball cards LAPD would hand out to kids. I was fortunate enough to experience the golden area of the WOTC sets being released.
