You need to complete the special sidequest that gives the item that allows you to break the damage limit. Otherwise every future PSA cert with be capped out at 9999999.

As I’m sure is the case for many on here, I have an order at PSA that has a shot at being the 999xxx cert. Maybe it will be my sandaconda alt art that gets it and it will finally be worth more than $5
Scratch that, with an average of 580,000 graded cards per month it’s not going to be my card
I’m boring so I’m going with add another digit.
There’s so many layers to that one, the jokes at TPC must’ve been endless.

I think they reuse old cert numbers, but assign multiple cards to it? 
I’ve looked up certs where it asked if I was looking up the PSA card or the DNA card. When clicking either, it was two different cards linked to the same serial number.

This. They certainly reuse cert numbers. Now, to say this is the move going forward once they hit 99999999…idk. I’m also inclined to believe the DNA stuff is separate and they only share certs because they all fall back on the same database.
maybe increase it to 100 million?
imagine the submission with both of these subs, the 99999999 and the 100000000
probably be like a psa 6 pidgey 
or a random sports card
but just imagine if that was like a base set psa 10 charizard, how much value premium the card will get
it will come fast too. the stuff i have at psa right now is 965xxxxx
so only 3.5 million away
and the rate at which cards are being graded, I have a barely 95 cert from very end of july when it was assigned maybe 6 or 7 weeks ago and we have already jumped 1.5 million certs since then
Which means it can happen THIS YEAR
My hypothesis: they just stop grading.

Maybe we can just move to letters like “A”, “B”, “C”, and then after “Z” we start getting “AA”, AB", etc. Would take quiteeee a while to finish. Cool part with this theory is that we’d have people collecting certs like “POKEMON”, “PIKACHU”, etc at some point in time. Thatd be neat to see.

actually I have 97 cert now at PSA.
man i just want to throw a bulk order in as we approach 99xxx. i will keep tracking cert # growth
that 99999999 cert will be worth a good amount of money
As PSA has always done with unique certs (outside of the meme ones), cert 99999999 will be hand-assigned by them. Probably not the best idea to try to catch it in one of your subs.

Yes all the other big milestone ones have been hand selected and it will definitely be the same for this. Like I posted before I think it will be Wemby but maybe some new PSA 10 illustrator will come from the shadows 
They’ll hand-assign it if they want to publicize it. No way is PSA is putting up an article on their website “PSA certifies 6900420th collectible today, by the way has anyone seen my CDs lately?”

I bet it’ll be a baseball card. It’d be better for marketing maybe since 00000001 was that T206 Wagner. I wonder why they chose to start with 7 digits to begin with…
