WB Kids Poke Creator Pack

I sold mine in January for 15k AUD, and then Goldin sold the graded pack for 15k USD including BP last month.

Those are the last 2 public sales I’m aware of.

Found a cool video of a guy showing off his cards he won. Idk how I found this under the algorithms. Sharing for two reason.

it’s a time piece of how the internet once was and how non chalant he is about these cards. They just cards. No sleeves! Ahhh!!!

Gotta love the rough 240p camera qualities at the time. But thanks for sharing. Cool to see a video of one of the five WB winners. And indeed rofl at how he handled the cards, considering their current value. Then again, most kids handled their cards the same or worse, and a lot of those are also worth thousands of USD in PSA-10s. :person_shrugging: As always, it all comes down to perspective with these kind of things.

Very cool to see the video from back then! Just for context, he is one of the 5,000 first prize winners who got a pack, as did I. He’s not one of the 5 grand prize winners whose art was made into cards. Still a great video showing the history of the contest!

Thanks for the correction. When he mentioned at 3:19 “Torchic. This is the one I drew.”, I thought he meant that artwork in particular. But you’re indeed correct and it’s just ‘a Torchic’ he drew, not that one in particular. Mb.

Out of curiosity: do you still have a scan or picture of your artwork from back then? I honestly like how the Bulbapedia Illustration Contests page also shows the non-winning artworks for some of the contests, but the WB unfortunately isn’t one of them.

Yes it’s quite confusing. I remember as a kid being confused that “First Prize Winner” didn’t actually mean I WON won, haha.

And I do not have the original drawing I made, but I did recreate it from memory recently! And I took it into Photoshop to add more detail and color. I’ll attach those below.

I was able to chat with the person in charge of the mail in submissions who handled all the entry forms. He said sadly, due to them having children’s information on them, his company had to shred all entry forms so there are none that survived. Although, there’s a chance that some Nintendo executive held onto the 5 winning forms and they’re floating around somewhere! I would kill to see them.
