I was curious as a competative MTG player what the old game I played actually looked like at a competative level.
I dowloaded copies of every page the first time I found that site 
edit: that last deck I listed is actually a copy paste from his mewtwo takes over blog. He talks about the best new cards and explains why mewtwo is good. Then he lists 9 of his favorite decks from the meta. This is pure gold!!!
I might add that building vintage decks can provide a fun extra layer to your collection regardless of whether you can find anyone that wants to play with you. I personally have 10-11 decks from various points in the original WotC era. A good thing here is that card condition is less important when you are building a deck. This reminds me to check if prices for some staple cards like

Oh yeah, this sounds soo fun! I would love some competitive play - base set to last neo. I think meta back then was so much better and you had to be really strategic. Every damage counter counted, any attack of 50 or higher was devastating and poison effect was actually useful.
