Heads up if you’re buying from China. The details aren’t clear to me how this affects individual consumers. Idk how common it is here to buy from China or Hong Kong, or how this could affect things, but figured I’d mention it here. Can we try and keep it on Pokemon not politics?
Well, that decision didn’t last long.
Yeah, so not a comment on politics, but I think we have seen multiple examples now where potentially significant and disruptive news to the hobby gets reversed. The other day it was Canada/Mexico tariffs.
So it might be good for everyone’s peace of mind to not take these things too seriously when they are first announced.
I agree and am glad to see it seems to have changed rapidly. I shoulda made it more clear I was trying to say “give it a little time” if u were planning on buying from there or have a delay.
(I also mentioned it cuz i don’t always know when I’m buying from China, it’s not disclosed on every website. 3 week delivery time is a good hint)
Now does this change anything in the long term if there are some lasting changes?(not holding all packages but policy changes). I’ve heard some Chinese sellers can offer crazy low shipping because of the imbalance in our country’s import/exports. Idk how true that is but if it is, does that affect competition over here?
Like ive seen it said that the super cheap cards come from China. Apparently they can make money on 99c free shipping listings after fees cuz shipping is nil. Haven’t seem much proof for that tho so just a rumor in my mind.
Any good speculation from someone more experienced? (Without going against what we were just saying about overreacting to limited news lol)
They reversed this like an hour ago. Everything has a greenlight again minus the de minimus import tax removal so all packages from China will have a tariff charge added. USPS is currently working with Customs to plan the processes and execution.
