Trophy Kangaskhan Trade

I just traded for my first vintage trophy card! It took a massive amount of sealed product but I think it was worth it.
What do you guys think?

The trade: A resealed neo destiny booster box (36 packs with price sticker) 35k
1st Ed team rocket box sealed (small tear) 25k
4 1st Ed neo destiny packs 8k
1 sealed southern islands binder English 6.5k
14 heavy booster packs

Price for psa 8 kangaskhan: 80k with trade at 90% it comes to 89k

It hurts to trade my heavy packs because I did want to open them one day but I think this card was worth it and I have a few more still in my reserves. Gave it a new silver graded guard which I think really makes it shine!

Congratulations!

The Trophy Kangaskhan really is a top tier collection piece. Much more enjoyable than the sealed product (and I love sealed vintage) so I think you got a great deal!

And it even has a beautiful swirl. :pikalove:

I am happy! I wish I could have kept a few of my jungle heavies but it’s a small price to pay!

Wow, what an incredible trade!
I think you maximized value if you had planned to open the packs at some point!
to lock in a grail like this is such an achievement.

Congrats on the grail!! It’s a fair amount to give up but I would personally prefer your side of the trade.

I’d prefer your side of the trade - the Kangaskhan.

Either way, I believe it is you who has the leverage to potentially sell at some point and buy some of the sealed back.

For me it matters if the silver graded guard was a part of the deal or no /j

Congratulations on such an amazing and a massive trade. I think this card is absolutely worth it and I would always be on the card side of the deal. Your copy is very beautiful. Really special trade. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers!

Funny enough it came with a gold graded guard but it was a bit gaudy. I purchased the silver and it looks so much better I think.

Huge congrats! It’s take an extra large set of balls to get into trophy cards now a days with the higher cost basis involved. Love to see people truly diving in toward the true S-Tier Older, Rarer, Minter, Better cards of Pokemon <3

Nice trade man, I think if you’ve had some of this stuff sitting in your closet for years like you mentioned in the video, then it was a no brainer for you to trade into something you love.

I’ve been doing the same thing myself lately on a muuuuuccchhh lower scale lol.

I also wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos, I started watching with your 30th anniversary pack opening series and you’ve got yourself a big fan - you’re a real oasis of genuine passion in all of the craziness that is the hobby atm.
