- There are 16 “rare” cards.
- Less than 1/3 reflect market value or close to market value as they sell so rarely in PSA 10 condition.

Id love to see a 1, 5, 10 year or some sort of time interval price prediction for a bunch of the high value cards in the marquee sets and revisit them in the future to see how right or wrong we were. Could be kind of fun or could result in lots of arguing and people predicting the specific cards they own to be worth millions of dollars lol. Now that I think about it… maybe it’s a bad idea haha.

It’s been a couple days. Do we have any idea what a 1st edition psa 10 blastoise and venusaur goes for now? I want to make a buy thread but am unsure of prices. I couldn’t find anything on ebay sold listings
Tough to say. Cheapest PSA 10 blastoise on eBay is $80k and venusaur is $45k. We know the auctions that ended a few weeks ago were roughly $40k for blastoise and $30k for venusaur. Pwcc auctions have PSA 9 blastoise at $19k and venusaur at $11k currently but I would keep an eye on the auction to see if there are any bid retractions or something. Looks like the best value based on previous prices, availability, and PSA 9 price movement might be venusaur right now and you could possibly get it for not much more than the previous auction. However, it looks like it might take a decent amount over $40k to get the blastoise unfortunately (if the PSA 9 price holds true)

There is no up to date price for the 10s lol, it’s just a guessing game at this point. You can do some guesstimates by looking at the recent sale of 9s and the historical price ratio between that particular cards 9 and 10. Or you can look at the price of the last sold 10 of it was a while ago, then look up how much 9s were going for back then, and then look at how much 9s are going for now and do a little math to get an estimation. Ratios change over time though so this will only give a rough estimate.

One sold on Iconic a couple weeks ago but I think it went cheap compared to if it had been posted on pwcc since iconics site is not great.

As you said, I suspect Iconic Platforms was not the best platform to maximize, but more importantly this was a couple of weeks ago and prices have already gone up significantly since then (not specifically for Blastoise since that was the last one to be sold, I’m referring to prices for Base Set in general - so we can surmise that Blastoise would also sell for a lot more).
There is a PSA 9 Blastoise on PWCC currently sitting at around $20k.
I would expect the PSA 10 could sell for several times that.

My guess - Blastoise ~ 70k Venusaur ~ $38k

Poor Venusaur is always being looked down on. Blastoise gets to be 70k, but thicc toad can’t be rounded up to 40k? 38k is so specific. This is discrimination.

if psa 9 blastoise sells for 20-25k, i would say a 10 may be 50-80k…
