I think these are a different line of items. I’ve seen some of those stickers but don’t know much about release or the set in general.
In my mind those special prism cards where part of the pink border set ? but for sure Topsun does it’s best to confuse us lmao, I’m not sure. ![]()

That’d be surprising, since the design seems so different. At first glance, I thought the prism thing was a sticker, but I guess it could also be a card. ![]()
If we look at the second Topsun set, all the non holos are cards and the holos are actually stickers, here it could be the same I wonder ![]()
I thought they were from the same set because i saw some listings over the past years with the pink set and the holo prism sticker, i don’t know how it was realeased though (box topper?). Moreover I think the 4 prism came with the blue set (for the same reason).
BTW does anybody have a full series 4 set? I’m having a hard time finding these cards:

Were these never printed? or those were replaced with standar reprints from gen 1? in the checklist you kindly provided the start from number 87 but I’ve seen some from this set prior to the 87th.
I’m not sure what set these are from, but I have been working on a set list based on ones I own and ones I’ve seen

With so many in the list, I’d think it’d almost have to be it’s own set. The style and size of the card/sticker doesn’t match the ADV VS cards either.
Which four prisms are you referring to here? The unnumbered glitter foil ones (e.g. Pikachu vs Blastoise, Charizard vs Deoxys, etc.)?
For the Johto set, I’m fairly confident about having covered all the existing cards. The Series 4 set seems to only cover those Kanto pokemon that had that style originally (so Series 4 reprinted whatever already existed), which only started at 87 (and doesn’t cover every pokemon past #87).
It seems that in a later release (Series 5), they attempted to go back to Kanto mons before #87 and give them cards in the newer style, but the set list/pokemon covered was very limited, so there are a good number of Kanto pokemon that don’t have a gold-bordered anime-like-style card. If you run into any cards that go against what I’ve catalogued for Series 4 and 5 though, please do reach out to let me know! Since these are mostly just assumed set lists based on what I (and others) have been able to piece together.
Now I understand better, I didn’t have clear the situation with the part 5, now it’s a bit less foggy!
I’m so happy to have found this thread. Here’s a photo of my psyduck topsun versus collection, which is nearly complete. There is one I’ve been searching everywhere for, and have really struggled to find (screenshot attached). It’s the psyduck v nose pass, and I think it’s a larger card (like the psyduck / feebas in my binder). Anyone know anything about these or what set they are from? Thank you!
Awesome collection! The Psyduck vs Nosepass card is also a Topsun/Top Seika VS card, similar to these others. I haven’t gotten around to cataloguing that particular set, but it’s a second Diamond/Pearl set (check the card layout here). I think if you want to capture the most search hits, you’d probably have to search just “Pokemon Top” in Mercari. You can try to narrow down by searching Psyduck, but you might miss lots that might not name the particular pokemon pairs.
As an aside, if you want to master set the cards, the Johto variants with the “black disc” (the variant you have) also have a “grey disc” counterpart (see the Slowking vs Psyduck card below).
I think it’s still up for determination whether all black disc cards have gray disc counterparts, but I don’t think any of the Psyduck cards were in that shortlist, so they likely all have gray disc variants.

Just saw this post, I dont know where these are from exactly but they are pretty rare. Japanese sellers seem to know this too, cause evertime i see one its at a crazy price…
Hi — fantastic job, very thorough documentation. One question though: why stop at Series 9 (the blue border set)? The next three sets are among my top (pun intended) favorites. After the pink border cards, I find the green and blue border waves kind of bland and forgettable by comparison.
The next 3 are:
(1) DP borderless VS cards (slightly larger format) — DP (No Border) - VS CARDS & AMADA STICKERS ALL THE WAY!!!;
(2) and (3) Two sets of clear plastic “Attack Separated” cards, where you combine an attacker and a defender to form a battle scene - it’s a really fun concept!
BW: BW (Attack Seperated) - VS CARDS & AMADA STICKERS ALL THE WAY!!!
XY: XY (Attack Seperated) - VS CARDS & AMADA STICKERS ALL THE WAY!!!
The clear plastic cards are the priciest and rarest of the Topsun VS cards — right up there with the 3D unpeeled!

I still plan to do the remaining sets you listed, but I’ve also added to the list of articles I’d like to write (and things to do). There are some updates that need to be made to some of the other sets here too.
My favorite, by far, is the Johto sets. Probably because Gen II is my favorite generation.
The clear ones will be fun to look at
I think last time I checked, that website (which is a really great resource also) didn’t have all of them, so there will be some Mercari trawling to do!

I can help hunt down the missing clear Topsun VS cards. I thought I could easily fill in the rest from my collection, but I am only now realizing how many variants these sets have.
The Weebly site lists BW Series as 12 attacking cards and 16 defending cards, and XY Series as 9 attacking cards and 9 defending cards.
I have the 4 missing attacking cards from my collection, plus a rare-ish Pikachu defending variant (funny to put them side-by-side and seeing 'chu just taking it), and thought that was it. But no.
Then I started finding variants that I don’t have:
each of the cloud octopus gods have a variant attack:
Not variants but 2 other musketeer pokemon defending (website only has virizion)
i am going to lump the rest of the missing ones from the website altogether. Mega gengar obviously is the grail card among them

I know the website was short for these modular sets but didn’t know how short. Without a set list or even a hint at the number available per set, I was/am going to have to dig through a bunch of listings (like you are doing) to get a gauge for whether I feel like list is close to complete. Doesn’t help that these modular sets don’t seem to be numbered
Also, didn’t know they were doing these up to Sun and Moon!
You are welcome to try to craft your own set list, and if you feel it is pretty complete, I can add it to the resource and give you the credit in whatever fashion you’d like. It doesn’t all have to come from me—happy to crowdsource if it gets things done faster!
Just when i thought i had at least SEEN them all while actively collecting them the past 3-4 years on mercari jp, i came across an ebay post that made my jaw literally drop.
4 new mega pokemon that i had never seen before and didnt even know existed: m kyogre, m charizard, m scizor, and m sableye.
This is sheer insanity. i guess i have you to thank bc i wouldn’t be meticulously searching for these cards if it wasnt for trying to verify the set list!!
the blue zard card is so sick bc every single defending card has the pokemon flailing & failing backwards comically (after taking a hit), but this zard is just in a regular stance acting unfazed like whatever happened didnt bother him. So OP!!

Exactly! The initial topsun series where two pokemon are just psyducking (ie standing there facing each other rather dumbly) is so boring. Plus the second pokemon on the left you can only see the back of its head… what’s the fun in that?
Anime style where the main pokemon is using its attack on the victim pokemon is so much better. Seeing baby grovle boinking the moth in the head just gives me so much joy. Rarely do you see this level of pokemon-on-pokemon action in any TCG
