Topps anniversary special box

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone has any info about the topps pokemon cards in the anniversary box.

A year or two ago, topps released some kind of anniversary box that contained a “best of” of all the things they ever printed, and had a chance to contain special “reprints” of topps cards, with a small chance of topps pokemon cards among other things.

The only video I ever saw about any of those was a short from pokemon radar who graded a clefable with CGC at a convention. I can’t find anything else about them, no info, google doesn’t have anything, heck I can’t even find the box it came from anymore (pokemon radar also did an opening of one of these boxes, but that video and the short have both been deleted since).

Can anyone provide any info about them? Has anyone seen any of them other than that clefable? I probably sound insane but I swear those are a thing.

@PokemonRadar?

I think what you are referring to is the 75th anniversary topps box released in 2013 i believe. It contains 100 cards from all sorts of different sets but alas no pokemon.

These were just posted about here

The boxes are about ~600 on ebay right now. So if you’re feeling lucky maybe your stamped card is a pokemon topps common

Each box of 75th Anniversary cards contains 4 guaranteed hits!

  • Autographs (3 per box): Over 24 different pop culture icons from iconic Topps card sets
  • Stamped Originals (1 per box): Original trading cards, foil-stamped with Topps 75th logo

Its nice to be wrong lol. There was mention of buyback where they bought old cards and stamped them this must be that. Couldnt find any images to confirm so this is brilliant.

here’s the checklist: 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary Trading Cards Checklist, Set Info, Boxes

and although Pokemon isn’t part of the official set, it makes sense that they might be available as the Topps buyback.

Wow that’s so cool! I didn’t realise they were buybacks, thanks everyone for the great info!

It’s really difficult to find any info on these, I wonder if any other copies got graded beside the Clefable I mentionned, and if they are identified on the label as such.

Any chance you could post the link to that video short of the clefable? Thanks.

Sadly it got deleted. Maybe if pokemon radar himself sees this post he can share an image/video of the card or the original short if he still has it.

Would be great if he did.

Here is a picture of all of mine  they are currently on their way to PSA as I wanted to get a nice label on them.

It’s really cool to see the effort put into this, the printing plate number as the basis for print run calculation is both extremely simple and extremely smart, great work. More and more people have been discussing these (almost always) 1 of 1s, what an evolution over the past 3 years lol.

As far as I know, I haven’t found a Charizard E6 Texture Foil card (if one ever existed), but I do own the next best in Blastoise E9 Texture Foil, as well as the first print Topps Charmeleon.

Here are some scans (There’s a ton of dust on my scanner lol and the Blastoise is triple sleeved lol, I’ll take better scans some day)
