Today I learned that base set in other languages are very expensive

Korean is the rarest, especially unlimited.

Dutch isn’t too rare in general, although PSA-10 could be tbh. Then again, I am Dutch, so maybe I’m biased and just see them more often. Dutch Fossil in unlimited edition on the other hand is very rare though, since they stopped printing Dutch cards pretty soon after and it’s been English since.

Listed is nothing, anyone can list at whatever price they want. Let us know when it is sold.

When I returned to the hobby, I had no idea Base Set and other sets even came out in anything but English or Japanese. It was interesting to see them in auctions as I got searching around for cards again. It seems like in some languages they vary in price, so it must mainly come down to supply/demand like everything else is my guess.

Im a huge spanish base set collector (mostly 1st Ed holos). If you ended up buying that trio that was a solid purchase!

Yeah I’m working on it!

You should definitely try knocking off Chansey and Clefairy, hard to come by in PSA10 (pop1) and sometimes ends for really cheap auction wise. There are some cheap and affordable ones like Zapdos and Alakazam, due to higher pops. Good luck with your set!

I collect different languages in WOTC. French has blown up quite a bit. Any 1st edition Charizard in another language is very difficult to come by in a 10 and expensive in most grades in comparison to their English counterparts.

@Quuador I found that Dutch base set is tough to come by personally in the USA. I have some nice 1st edition stuff, it’s very tough for me to find 1st ed Charizards that aren’t sky high in value. I have an unlimited but that wasn’t too hard to get.

I actually wouldn’t mind the banned Sabrina’s Gengar in Italian just because it’s a more renaissance/religious vibe but I’m assuming the graveyard background is only in Japanese.

Base Set 1st Edition in a 10 is goals in any language. I’ve been looking for a 1st Edition German Raichu in a 10 that’s within my budget for a while.
