Been collecting from the beginning. Gave it up when my son grew out of it.Collected everything I could. Being a Marvel comic collector as a kid… I was taken by the fact of how passionate these kids were about the cards and the sheer number of kids interested in it compared to comics! I traded for only 1st.ed base cards. Brought original card shop advertisement posters,game mats,pins,badges,calendars Burger king toys,Tee shirts even the Time magazine with pokemon on the cover. I opened at least 6 unlimited base set booster boxes 3 each of 1st. ed jungle fossil,rocket,heroes,challenge and neo Genesis boxes. Opened the 1st. ed.packs so gingerly to preserve the condition of the packs as potential art.They are amazing by themselves… I wanted PSA to grade them. Sold 1 card my 1st.ed scyther:confounded: which I thought was the best card in jungle at the time… Two years ago I sent 600 cards to psa. About a year ago I sent another 1000 and then another 700 6months ago. Most of those are the best of my common uncommon variety along with promo cards. My collection goal is gotta catch them all 
I always called myself the Pokemon master haha!Then you see the big hitters smpratte ,King Pokemon Rusty,the list goes on and on. Collect what you enjoy and be patient. Some day you may become the best collector! P.S. Gym Challenge has amazing art.imho
