The Tropical Woodsman's Collection - Neo 4

Yeah I love things like price stickers etc. creates an extra narrative or history behind the item! My favourite is original discount or sale stickers

My biggest shipment ever just came in. It was awesome!

Team Rocket/Rocket Gang open box (full)

I didn’t think much of this box just based off photos, but in person, I really like it. It has a menacing look, especially with Gyarados looking fierce and all the staring. It’s in really good condition, a couple of dings/dents but has retained a good crisp shape.

And full of lovely packs!

Bonus - This is probably the most Team Rocket stuff I’ll have at any one point.

Are those rocket gang strikes back packs weighed or not? Think of the poor goldstars trapped in them if not :stuck_out_tongue:

Fairly certain these cannot be weighed as each pack contains a Holo.

I had no idea that any sets from that era had holos in every pack so thanks for the info

Not by me at least, and not I’m sure if you can, like pokephd said. I have a few packs in poorer condition that might get opened, but for the time being those pesky gold stars in their lovely sealed packs

Does gold star replace the holo card?

Yep.

And the next box is … Neo Genesis

This is a condition replacement for my other box. It’s not quite perfect but it’s more than good enough for now.

Neo Discovery - Crossing the Ruins

I’m really pleased I could get a sealed copy of this box; I’ve had a lot of packs over the years and I think it’s the one of the only sets that I completed by pulling the cards myself. I much prefer the design and artwork of this box over Neo 1. Overall condition is good, no tears/rips in the plastic and mostly retains its shape.

very nice! i love the GS era Sugimori art, very nostalgic to me with the pale & white coloring, look more drawing like than computer artwork

never even seen that box xD

It’s like the middle child of the Neo family.

Sadly this is where the Neo box streak ends, they await me for another day.

E1 Expedition sealed box - My first sealed copy of this box, in excellent condition, my main gripe is crease on the top front. Great box overall.

Nice acquisition!

Any tips to take photos like that? I have tried but can’t seem to get it so professional.

Thanks

Here’s a photo of my usual set up. Having decent light is the main thing. I don’t have a softbox so just use natural daylight. I use a piece of black plastic (not ideal due to reflection, you can usually see some on the right side of all my photos) and black polo shirt for a half decent infinity background. I use a piece of plain white paper to bounce some light in to the shadows on the left hand side, and sometimes my head torch for extra oomph. I use a gorillapod for camera stabilty which is very important.

As for the camera, I use a Canon 60D with a 18-55mm lens. Small aperture for extra depth of field (f/8-13), lowest ISO, whatever shutter speed necessary (usually slow, hence tripod and 10s timer), 4500-5500 kelvin (I usually shoot jpg).

Wow! Thank you for such a thorough response.

I will see if I can incorporate some of those techniques into my future photos. Hopefully my iPhone camera isn’t a deal-breaker.

No problem  I’ll use an iphone for my next photos to see how they compare.

E1 deck box case - It was originally sealed but had a large tear in the plastic, so I didn’t mind opening this one, and it makes for a nice display when open.
