The 20th Anniversary of Pokemon got me back into the hobby. I started with collecting the cards I wish I had when I was younger and grew from there. What did the 20th Anniversary mean to you? What do you see future Pokemon Anniversaries bringing to the hobby?
The 20th anniversary didn’t really do much for me personally. If anything, it might me realize how big Pokemon actually is and how its gone through so many generations of kids. No way did I think that Pokemon’s relevance would last this long back then. I’m 25 now, but I have cousins that are 5 years old, 7 years old, 13 years old, and 18 years old that are just as big fans of it as I was when I was 7
Fuck…that was good. That binder cover hit me hard. That is how you advertise. Even down to the little detail with the Surge soda.
The 20th anniversary means a lot to me! Flashback to 2016, I was just getting out of rehab and was trying to find a new passion/hobby that I could fill a void with. One day while organizing, I found one of my old binders from the late 90’s early 2000’s! Unfortunately it was the binder with just my commons/uncommons/non holo rares. I kept my holos in a separate binder, with my prized 1st edition charizard (This binder has been stolen/misplaced). Anyway after looking through my old commons and uncommons and non holo rares, I decided to see if they were worth anything. I was shocked at the Pokemon market!!! Next time I was out shopping, I passed by the Pokemon isle. I decided to buy a few packs for shits and giggles. I was shocked when I opened the evolutions packs! They where the same cards I grew up with!! After that, I was hooked! I completed the evolutions set and I went onto collecting WOTC sealed product and graded cards. Now I collect strictly Charizards, PSA 9s and 10s. Evolutions definitely got me back in the game and to be honest, I couldn’t be happier! I guess you could say in away, Pokemon TCG saved my life. It has been the perfect outlet for me to put my idle time in. Pokemon collecting is the perfect hobby for me! I will always continue collecting Pokemon cards until i’m dead! Charizards are my new high. Thank God for Pokemon cards.
The 20th anniversary for Pokémon was actually a taste of heaven for myself. It was a special period in time for me, the perfect nostalgic experience. Not to mention other anniversaries (yu-gi-oh, power rangers, DBZ, etc.) all hit during a short span of time. ‘Twas great, I was thankful for being a part of it. My collection looks so clean and crisp thanks to the content produced during these anniversaries. 10/10 great time to be alive.

Awesome video! It would have been cool to see the gameboy light attachment when he was playing in the dark.
Great ad. It fires on all cylinders and leaves you smiling:)
I loved how it was like the 90’s all over again during the 20th. I wish it was like that all the time. I really love this music video about the 20th. (Warning: may cause man tears…)
