Well…as I’ve said over and over I’m skeptical of modern long term.
But right now I do expect modern and vintage to appose each other in prices on raw cards. I think neo is cooling due to modern. TR is hard to gauge but individual cards are up or down.

Well I skeptical of well regarded modern sets and all sealed products. Anyway I think the real stock market might crash around the 30th anniversary so the distinction between hype and fomo modern and fomo on vintage might not matter.

Can’t remember who said it but the anniversaries that people hyperfocus on in Pokemon have coincided with other factors that are better explanations for card prices going up. The anniversary itself has no real impact.

I also recall a lot of there higher end cards usually do not get paid for and relisted but with how the market is now not sure about that

Yeah, nothing new with Probstein, but I’d wager other auctions from the big consigners for high-end cards have a lot of funny business going on too.
In the past obvious shill bidding would usually result in the card not being paid for and being relisted until it ended at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case these days and stuff gets paid for regardless of whether it ended 2x higher than the last public sale.

I watched a ZandG auction last week that ended at $1325 (I won’t link card) and there were no real bids above $65 lmao one low feedback person at $1000 and then everything else was 0 feedback dudes. Great times
