I was thinking the same. I thought it was another version that has maybe not been seen before but alas another PSA mishap

I forget how to check what it actually sold for, but this is pretty huge. Probably the highest sale price ever for a Japanese pack.
Someone unloaded almost an entire booster box worth of short crimp graded packs like a year ago.
It is pop 39 and this one is a reholder from an old slab.
It would have been in one of these slabs where they bend the pack. I think someone way overpaid but cool to see packs get some love.
That likely was Z&G. A swing and a miss thinking it was a NR box

Big oof. The packs at least still fetch a lot.
I’ve never been able to inspect a confirmed NR pack. I always wondered if there is some small sign everyone missed that I could spot.
Did you find out actual sale price? I’ve bumped up the prices on my graded packs. In a ridiculous market where raw set cards that go for $100 get turned into $100,000 in a PSA 10, I’m gonna be bullish on PSA 10 packs. Even if grade scale isn’t as defined on the pack side of things
I know an older cased Neo destiny japanese PSA 10 sold for $5,500 a week or two ago. The old case design is incredibly ugly lol
I’m really curious to see whether pack PSA grades will start to become a market differentiator. I’m open to buying graded packs but don’t care about the grade itself and wouldn’t pay a premium over ungraded. But I’m buying Black & White era Japanese packs, not vintage ones.
They’re great display pieces when graded. Nice to have it authenticated too. The grading scale is wonky though. Similar to PSA 10s for random low pop set cards, I’m assuming there will eventually be a premium for people that care more about the label than the pack itself, but that’s the world we live in. Some of the e-series and neo packs are very low pops, but definitely not the same situation as cards
Yeah I see it. I enjoy collecting booster packs for their artwork and if I was rich I’d just be hoovering up PSA 10s.

theres prolly a bajillion resealed packs floating around cardshows that are “raw” 
There’s not a single person on this site or maybe in the world that can tell you how a pack gets a 10 vs a 9

No. I sold my Destiny 10 pack for $7k a few months ago. Very sad to see it go.
There are several grading factors, you just have to be very observant. Crimp horizontal levelness, art centering vertical and horizontal, flaps on the back being attached or held down, air hole perforations size, any creases, and maybe scratches? I can’t deny though there is a huge grader factor going on.
I am wondering when niche Japanese will pick up. If you pay attention you can find which packs contain rare banned/error cards and which ones have certain corrections. I think some should go for significantly more than others but they are all lumped together currently.
291¥, 300¥ stamp vs sticker, 1998 UPC vs 2001, UPC stickers vs update UPC art, USA import stamp, etc. Almost every early set in Japanese has 4 or more pack variants.

An example would be the banned and corrected Koga’s Ninja Trick trainer. Since it was later updated, you would need to search the 300¥ updated packs. It’s the small number on the bottom right on the front I don’t know if they would be in the 300¥ sticker yet.
