日本のマーケット部分 The Giant Japanese Market Thread

That picture looks like a stock image, I think the description is correct. But you can always ask again of course with someone who has a yahoo account.

@eeveeteam, here yo go

Question. Hi, can I ask if this card has the first edition stamp?

Answer. We apologize for the late reply. Thank you for your question. This is 1 edition. It comes with a stamp of the first edition. I am sorry that it is confusing due to the difference in the photo. Consider Thank you.

Awesome thank you! Glad I didn’t spend $23 in buyee fees and shipping to get a card I already have.

A couple of years ago I sold my unlimited lightning deck Eevee 007/015 to RustedHarmony for the price of $5. At the time I wasn’t collecting unlimited Japanese yet, so it was an extra unneeded card. Well shortly after selling that, I decided to go all in on Japanese and get the unlimited and all variants. Myself and 4 other Eevee collectors are still chasing that exact card. Unlimited is very hard to find for these quarter decks.

Anyways, I bought a sealed deck that I am cracking open just for the Eevee, unless someone else can stop me and supply the card!

Starting to see comparable prices to japanese markets on ebay. Here is the new Pikachu Vmax Coro: ebay.us/tc243P

Also the stamp boxes have been quietly softening over the past few months: ebay.us/w38hC3

The no stamp ones are currently around $150-160, the ones that hold the value more are the one with stamps that hover around $200.

I’m surprised they have been able to hold value considering these items appear on a daily basis on ebay.

I agree to an extent that you would think the price is lower given total number distributed but if EVERYONE wants these cards (and they do) + the slower listing nature of the lottery versus all at once had big players easily been able to get a large stock, it makes sense they are staying afloat. It’s at least higher than I thought (or hoped?) they would be lol

Yeah, the demand for these is insane. It’s a great product overall.

Just a possible heads up to anyone who might be looking at bidding on this auction, i won it from a different seller a few months ago. I highly doubt you are going to get whats shown in the photos unless this 0 feedback seller who is relisting it has the same cards. Its not like the cards are crazy rare, but the new seller should have taken their own photos. Just beware. Heres the link to the one i won:

Also as a side note, the auction went funny. I was bidding against someone but when i lost the winning bid they deleted theirs… it felt weird. Idk just a heads up!

What do you guys think of the long term value of these Poncho eevee cards? I really dig the art and was thinking of grabbing a full set.

They were originally about $15/each then climbed to $200 for a set of 8, then the boom really happened. I have no idea on long term, but just some info on past value. If I was looking to add them to my collection (already have them), I would patiently grab them as I see deals or auctions posted.

Cheers, I appreciate the response. I will probably go for them, the art is really cool, and these cards are pretty unique. They will be a solid addition to the collection for sure.

@tubby,

I started collecting in 2017, and back then I wouldn’t bother with modern Japanese promos because WOTC PSA 8s and 9s were so cheap, I’d opt for the vintage stuff. I never bought any of them.

Today, I salivate for these cards now that I’ve completed my WOTC collection.

I don’t think I am the only one that position. I think the future is bright for those cards.

I appreciate the response. Do you think it’s better to just buy the psa 10’s already on the market?

The pop is quite low, but most seem to come back high grade.

I have a connection in Japan that can give me a decent deal on sealed copies of these cards. This is the next step I have to think about.

I think this is really a question of how much risk you’re willing to take-- definitely something I’ve been considering a lot lately. Is the pop low because people weren’t really grading them, or is it quality control/ packing/ distribution related? I’m not sure the difference between PSA 10s, 9s, and sealed/ NM raw, but imo, it’s usually a matter of what you’re comfortable with. If you can snipe mint copies for a good deal, you’re okay with the possibility of them coming back <10, and you’re okay with locking that capital up until you can submit again, maybe rolling those dice is a solid move for you. Not really a direct answer, but thought it may be helpful to share my personal insight on these kinds of decisions (not that I’m an expert, just some food for thought lol).

Just because they are sealed does not mean they will grade 9/10. I bought a complete sealed set and 75% of them had small dings. Kind of like the sealed Meiji promos pictures can be deceiving. May have been bad luck on my part but just a friendly warning!

I appreciate the response, this is definitely something to think about.

I enjoy the chase of hunting and grading my own cards, it makes the hobby more exciting for me.

This is definitely true, I’m very cautious before purchasing though, I always ask for a bunch of angles to limit risk.

Yeah I have had nightmares with the Armoured Mewtwo and Yu Nagaba Pika recently. Really hard to spot any problems through the packet especially just from photos.

Just want to confirm, the seal is very strange on this “short” jungle pack right?

The front looks off, with the seal curling as if it had been thermally re-sealed, but the back looks OK (actually makes me wonder if the picture of the back is taken on the same pack… edit: no, definitely same pack, the seal is kinda contracted the same way at the bottom, but pretty sure it should not be this way).
