It’s not just 1999 though. It’s happened several times since, most recently 2016/17 when the shelves emptied out. You didn’t hear this level of crying on social media even then and there was plenty of SM then.
There are just too many posts like this to address individually so I’ll be brief; those who share similar opinions may want to reassess how irrational the oppositions’ opinions really are. Conspiracy, propaganda, gatekeeping, demonize, all are strong words to use for people who just want to buy some packs. That said, I’m just going to leave this here for future reference.

While not being able to go to a local target one day and see inventory in stock may be a MINOR inconvenience, the reality is that these packs are all widely accessible. We live in a modern, globalized, technologically advanced society where anyone can hop online, click a few buttons, and have things shipped to them in a matter of days. They can do this without even having to change out of their pajamas. These victim complex videos just don’t slap for me.
Agree 100%. I only made it through probably 8-9ish minutes of the video like 2 weeks ago, but all it seemed like she was doing was make her contemporaries seem like boogeymen and appeal to the most paranoid and irritated excesses of the hobby. This is what partisan demagogues do, not people who talk about Pokémon cards. Like, I get it - everyone on YouTube wants to build an audience. However, low-blowing other youtubers directly, and, at the same time, appealing to and enraging a mob that uses this Pokémon card shortage as their excuse to be angry in life just seems pathetic. I just wish everyone would use their platform to either calm people down or just try to communicate on how people can use this hobby as an escape from our crazy lives. Sure, not finding packs in stores sucks, but a one hour YouTube video about it just seems ridiculous.

Seriously; so true. There’s no high-confidence way to calculate EX Series pull rates because very few people filmed box openings.
On a similar note, the fact that there are people keeping tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of modern Pokemon booster boxes sealed is a hidden blessing. 20 years from now, people who grew up with those sets will have no problem finding them for affordable prices! I wish the same could be said about people who grew up with the EX Series. I wish people actually kept EX Series boxes sealed. It would be so cool to actually afford to open them lol.
The children growing up with Pokemon today don’t (yet) realize how lucky they are!
I won’t go as far as to say you’re toxic like the other person that commented; but this is a silly, condescending non-take. I watched the video she made in it’s entirety twice. I disagree with her. You don’t have to. If the foundation of your counterpoints or arguments with others revolves around lines like “I get it, you don’t” you should just avoid any sort of topical discussions online.
So, I’m having a bit of trouble understanding. Do you think you’re entitled to a specific rebuttal, or are you gatekeeping how people argue on the internet?

Well not only didn’t she call out TPCI, SHE DIDNT EVEN MENTION POKEMON GURU👀 She’s either a coward or a hypocrite. She owes the community an apology or she’ll get slammed at every turn.
