Haha, the only cash I’ve taken out is starting capital. Some of the cards I want to collect are $20k+, which I’m unwilling to pay. Only way then is to trade up. Which is more fun anyways. Its a trading card game…what fun is it if you just buy everything you want and call it a day?
I mean, if we are talking in terms of some of each era’s least popular sets, then Primal Clash definitely deserves to be mentioned here. It’s bottom 3 XY imo. When the set itself is compared to CI and EP, yeah there’s really no comparison. But comparing the price behavior of these sets once supply dries up is what @gildri is comparing here, and all have increased in price after initial supply depletes, no matter how “bad” the set is.
Personally I think this AI is interesting if it is taking available sales data to track supply relative to the market and predict when supply will become scarce based on sales volume and available sales, thus indicating a “good entry point” or a projected time frame where supply will dry up. I’m not surprised that there’s so much hate though.
What is wrong with people in this thread acting like they’re all-knowing? Also can you please remind me where I took up for CI? Booster boxes can go up in price separately from the set overall just from scarcity of the actual box and the fact there will possibly still be sealed collectors in the future. You don’t have to be so closed-minded. You said it yourself, the booster boxes list for 150-180 where a couple months ago they were everywhere for $90. What about Steam Siege booster boxes going for $200 and ETBs for $400+when people were whining that the booster boxes were still $80. Or Evolutions for that matter? CI may not be worth that much but it doesn’t mean somebody won’t want a booster box in a few years. People make comments and like posts in this thread then go whine in other threads about “people saying gatekeeping”, and apparently even on discord too lol what a bunch of losers.
No, the only boxes I own are 1 each of VV DA and UM. I got upset because the guy acted like a main antagonist over some Pokemon card chatter lmao. Posts like this are why I don’t even bother with these type of communities, curb your elitism.
Good to hear Primal Clash is more popular than EP. I bought a bunch last July at retail. EP, garbage that it was, was selling around $150 in 2016 and $1300 now. Its sticking to its price pattern despite its lack of popularity.
Yeah, who cares about the set. The important thing to me is what is the set’s price pattern, where is it at in that pattern, and can I get it at retail right before its elbow.
@berrykushbrad, Take a deep breath and breathe in the salty air of the entrenched “experts.” That’s the smell of market inefficiency and opportunity. The saltier the better! Take advantage of it and build an epic collection you enjoy!
New members shouldn’t take things so seriously, we joke around here a lot. That being said, older members don’t need to turn everything into a meme and should recognize that newer members may not be as familiar with the forum.
The only people totally in the wrong in this thread are the ones who are trying to proselytize about elitism and gatekeeping over a misunderstood joke.
Weird thread. For the record, having an e4 account does not make you an “elite” “expert” in anything. This is a public forum. If you’re gonna extrapolate the actions of a handful of people to the whole forum, all you’re doing is just confirming whatever bias you had about the forum.
