All languages would be amazing, but this is a great start. Finally!
Listings are now active for buyers. I already got a sweet deal on this Penny card, more than 50% off eBay price.
I’m really excited about this. It’ll probably take a while for sellers to populate TCGPlayer with their inventories, but it should be a huge improvement for buying Japanese singles
Sweet. Time to start buying.
I just wanted to comment that this is the best thing to happen since sliced bread. TCGplayer has always been great, they’ve had some setbacks and some speed bumps, but this is incredible. I know it is the beginning and will take a lot of time to phase everything in, but I’m hoping to see older sets get the treatment too. Because if like 2006-2011 era has japanese and reverses and stuff, I’m gonna cry tears of joy.
But already seeing those several sets available and buying Japanese full arts the way I used to with bulk singles has made me so happy.
What are your thoughts now that we are about 45 days into Japanese cards on TCGplayer?
Some cards are cheaper than eBay, some are more expensive. Happy to see $2 cards on eBay be 3 cent cards on TCGPlayer (the way it should be for bulk cards).
Wish they would add the BW and XY era. There are tons of cards not available to buy yet.
What we really need is for VS and Vending to be added.
I think it’s a good start. Hopefully they see it’s working and we get more and more vendors on more cards.
For those who have received japanese cards already, has condition been accurate?
For me yes, only a couple of orders.
I’ll be honest, i have been on tcgplayer maybe twice in the last month. Didnt buy anything. Seems fine tho
Benefit of ebay is still the <$20 card tracked envelope as a seller. If TCGplayer would integrate that (since they’re owned by ebay) it would be ideal.
I think eBay has been taking ideas from tcgplayer and not the other way around so far. They recently revamped standard envelope limits and started selling tcgplayer direct style packaging

I would not ship cards like this personally but I thought it was an interesting change.
main problem for me is that there are entire eras not available yet. but it was nice to pick up some modern ARs for good prices
Pretty much everything ex era to XY is not on there yet. Hope they make it 100% listed soon.
I picked up a couple cards last week, condition was accurate. Ironically an english card’s condition was not at all accurate. Although I’d say that’s par for the course with TCGP.
I placed an order a week ago for the remaining bulk and reverse holos I needed to complete VSTAR Universe. I originally just chose the first seller and was hoping to rely on the organizing tool TCGPlayer touts will figure out the cheapest method with the least amount of vendors to purchase through.
Well, it ended up not working so I had to sit down for 2 hours and manually find each and every card and try to find the vendors that had the most inventory in NM condition. I ended up getting it down to 11 vendors vs the original 62 and I saved over $100 by combining shipping rates. Now I’m waiting to see what will come. I received 2 envelopes over the weekend with a few cards and so far so good.
I hope they expand to all sets in the future! This was still cheaper than buying singles off eBay, off Japanese sites, and even cheaper than buying the few and far between master sets off eBay.
Update - I now see DP, BW, and XY era listings on TCGPlayer.
Looks like it is base set through e series, and then DP through modern.
Just missing ex era it appears.
Not much inventory yet, it must have just launched for the new eras. So now is the best time to list something, as there will be no competition at the moment.
Maybe some can get lucky sniping unlimited XY from unknowing sellers.
