StockX

I’m honestly fine with just using eBay, I don’t really see a need for another platform. There is a reason eBay is the #1 selling platform for Pokemon. Even if there were a exclusively Pokemon StockX equivalent, it really wouldn’t be an effective selling platform unless a lot of people started using it over eBay.

Oh StockX should really authenticate before posting. Does PWCC do that?

StockX operates like a stock exchange. Sellers can create asking prices for items they have. Prospective buyers can place bids for items they want. This is all anonymous. Once a seller sells directly to the highest bid OR a buyer buys for the lowest ask, the transaction is initiated. StockX serves as the middleman for the funds and the item after this point. StockX does not carry any inventory nor do they process items for sale before the sale is completed.

PWCC operates the opposite way. Sellers send their items to them. PWCC checks everything (obviously graded cards there really isn’t any gray area) and then lists them for auction.

Slow tf down in the chase for 50 posts. Dont need to do them all in one day

I think that if the meteoric rise in interest in Pokémon over the last few months were sustainable, a Pokémon-only secondary market might be feasible. Unfortunately, though, that’s probably not realistic.

I also second the post above re: eBay. Reach is the most important aspect of a marketplace for everything but the most high-end, specialized items. During an upswing (like we’re having now), sellers will use eBay to reach the incoming neophytes who wouldn’t know to look for a specialized market. During a downswing or period of stability, sellers will use eBay because sales won’t be as quick and they need as much reach as possible to sell pretty much anything.
