I saw a video from someone here using a hand scanner on PSA cards to inventory. Can someone here locate the video?
Not sure which video you’re referring to but I recently watched this video from Gem Mint Pokemon where he was using a scanner to inventory cards.

That’s pretty darn cool! I like that a lot more than my current method of typing everything into Excel. Though my PSA collection is about the size of one of Gem Mints rows lol!
If you deal with a lot of these things (tracking bar codes), it’s worth investing into a bar code scanner.
They’re super easy to use. Under Windows 7 and up it’s basically just a matter of calibrating it according to the manual and you’re ready to go. The scanner does nothing more than converting the white lines in the bar code to a number which you can just do, as Gem Mint shows, with Notepad.
I only vaguely remember that some scanner designed for Windows 7 do not always work on Windows 10, since Microsoft used some drivers etc. in the transition. But, last time I had this issue was at work 2 years ago when the scanner PC finally got upgraded to Windows 10 and with some troubleshooting we got it working within a hour.
I dont know if it would work with these types of barcodes but in the past i have scanned large amounts of PTCGO ingame cards (the ones that come in every pack for the online game) with a webcam and program called “zbarss”
That may also be an option with almost everyone having a webcam and the program is free.
There would certainly be a phone app that would do the same thing too. Whether it would be as quick or not I’m not entirely sure. On the newest model phones it probably could be.
The ptcgo codes scan very easily with a phone so they should work well with barcodes.

Just tried it and the Barcode Scanner app that is required for PTCGO Scanner and it works extremely well. Galaxy S9 plus for reference.
