Slowpoke, Slowbro, & Slowking Master Set List

All those years of indolence and lethargy finally took a toll on slowbro’s bodyfat index. What a horrendous sight. Can’t imagine its bloodwork values, cholesterol must be through the roof.

Promos coming to Thai and Indonesian. Will update the spreadsheet when officially released

Slowpoke fans, we are in luck lately!

Also added Korean, Thai, Indonesian, Traditional Chinese Gym promos along with Japanese to the all-language spreadsheet.

ahhhh I’m literally screaming to have found this niche of slow fans! I was hoping a fellow nerd could help me with a question I have been mulling for my master set binder. I am trying to include all original artworks but also all unique holo patterns. For example, I include 6 versions of the slowpoke from 151: English non holo + reverse, jpnanese poke ball + master ball, and also chinese poke ball and master ball bc it’s a different holo pattern compared to chinese. My question is - other than the french mcdonalds sets, are there any other languages I need to be searching for unique holo patterns? I also include unique stamps, such as the galarian slowpoke jpnanese pokemon friendly stamp, etc. I was under the assumption that those variants are limited to the jpnanese cards (hopefully?) Thanks in advance, and hopefully this makes sense to someone…

More might have been added by now, but to quote a post of @slowqueen from mid-2025 regarding holo variants for the Slow evo-line:

In general, unique holofoil patterns could be found for the following languages (skipping English/Japanese on purpose):

  1. S. Chinese (this one has the most unique holofoil variants, mostly different type of reverse holos)
  2. There are some unique holos in the Korean Shiny Collection set (here an example)
  3. Portuguese saturn holos, commonly found on holos during the HGSS era
  4. French McDonald’s Reverse Holos for some SM+ era French exclusive McDonald’s sets

And then there are of course existing holofoil variants that differ per language, which are kinda all over the place for promos especially. E.g. the French-exclusive McDonald’s holos you mentioned earlier; the BW54 Pikachu promo is non-holo in English, but Cosmos holo in Italian; the French POP9 Pikachu is Cosmos holo, but non-holo in other languages; etc. etc.

As for unique stamps, those can be found on most of the Asian languages, not just Japanese. There are some unique stamps for Korean, Thai, Indonesian and T. Chinese cards.
If there are any for the Slow evo-line specifically, I’ll leave for @slowqueen to answer.

Some of these are stunning !

As an English only collector, I might just have to go after the non-English exclusives too :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hi @calliesghost great to meet another Slow fan!! I went through my list to write down some notes for you but it’s possible I still missed something doing this  there’s a lot of cards!

Unique holos (this list may not be exhaustive it’s just from going through the spreadsheet plus what I remember off the top of my head):

  • English & Japanese Southern Islands Slowking have different holos
  • Legendary Collection Dark Slowbro in English both holo and reverse holo are different from the Team Rocket version, Slowpoke reverse holo is also unique to this set
  • HeartGold L1 in Japanese has a kind of smooth reverse holofoil whereas the western languages has a vertical sheen to it
  • International McDonald’s 2018 has confetti holo Slowpoke, but in French only there is also a confetti reverse holo Slowpoke
  • French McDonald’s 2019 has confetti holo Slowpoke
  • XY9 Slowking the holo goes in a different direction in western languages vs. japanese/korean
  • SM2+ in Korean has a mirror holo version that is different from the Japanese mirror holo, as does SM9b
  • promo pack CS4.1C in chinese has an all over sparkly Slowpoke
  • Chilling Reign Galarian Slowking cosmos holo is the smooth HD cosmos in English and the pixel cosmos holo in German
  • Paldea Evolved Slowking EX half art got the wrong holofoil for all Korean prints compared to Japanese, so the holo is diagonal on these instead of horizontal
  • 151 Slowpoke & Slowbro have pokeball and masterball foil in Japanese, Korean, and T Chinese
  • Simplified Chinese as you found out has unique pokeball and masterball foils for most sets
  • SWSH Start Deck 100 reverse holos in Japanese Korean and Traditional Chinese I believe are slightly different from one another in Korean because they have the yellow border and smoother holo also
  • SWSH Start Deck 100 has non-holo versions of some of the Slowking V and Vmax cards
  • SV4a has all-over sparkly reverse holo Slowpoke in all asian languages
  • Chinese has exclusive Slow art for pokemon go that is cool, with reverse holos as well
  • gonna not list all the japanese exclusive art because I think you know about it

Stamped promos (this list may not be exhaustive it’s just from going through the spreadsheet plus what I remember off the top of my head):

  • (very tiny stamp) Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking Japanese Domino’s Promos 028/L-P 029/L-P and 030/L-P have a very little Domino’s logo in the corner
  • (very tiny stamp) 059/ADV-P Slowpoke in Japanese has a tiny meiji logo in the corner
  • Generations Slowpoke has the 20th anniversary stamp promo as well as the Toys R Us promo, exclusive to English and French
  • the SM promo gym slowpoke with the hidden fates artwork exists in Japanese, Thai, and Indonesian, and the stamp is in a slightly different place for all of them
  • the SM promo gym slowpoke in Traditional Chinese has the lost thunder artwork and it’s the only language for that one
  • pokemon friendly shop Japanese Slowpoke also has a counterpart in Korean, which is the coloring book stamped slowpoke promo 121/s-p
  • New mega promo Slowpoke & Slowbro are gym stamped in japanese, t-chinese, indonesian, and thai
  • Traditional Chinese has a familymart stamp version of the stellar crown artwork
  • thai has a Tao Kae Noi stamp of the 151 artwork
  • Thai and Indonesian both have set logo stamps for the new Slowpoke artwork in abyss eye
  • indonesian has a choki choki promo stamp of the 151 artwork
  • indonesian has a KFC stamp promo of the unbroken bonds artwork
  • Indonesian has an INDOMILK stamped stellar crown artwork promo
  • traditional chinese has a set logo stamp of the new slowbro artwork we’re getting for prerelease 144/M-P

this is SO helpful, thank you so much! Pikachu is tough, and I’ve referenced your posts CONSTANTLY regarding my pika master set, which I’m trying to do in the same way (re: including non-English art exclusives, stamps that only occur in other languages, and holo patterns that only occur in other languages). Do you have any similar references on the pikachu side you’ve done that you could link me to? thanks again in advance for all your help in this community!

I’m afraid not.
I could try to make one, but I’m not sure when I have time to do so. And one problem is that since I no longer collect all languages since the 25th anniversary, the list would be incomplete for newer releases in regards to unique holo or stamped variants. Personally I only go for all English, and one of each non-English exclusive artwork, regardless of holo or stamps, so if an artwork has multiple variants, I don’t have them in my checklist, and also don’t know about all of them.

Greetz,
Quuador

honestly, I’m realizing that’s the only sane approach for Pikachu! non-English exclusive artwork only!!! in that case, I assume your checklist is updated with those parameters past 25th anniversary?

This is amazing!!! Thank you so very much for taking the time to put this together for me, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it! I will upload photos of my binder and collection once it’s less chaotic!

Hi, is the English set list being updated to include the pitch black slows? :slightly_smiling_face::folded_hands:

Yes, I just updated the main post with the English set list, thanks for the reminder! I’ve been waiting to update the all-language spreadsheet for Pitch Black until I’m 100% sure which languages the Slowpoke blister promo is being released in  but since English is confirmed, the list in the first post of this thread has been updated.

BTW, new Chinese stamped Slowking promo!

Thanks!

I’ve seen some of other ‘staff’ promos, not a slowbro yet, I wonder how hard it’s going to be to get one of these :smiling_face_with_tear:
